Challenges are an integral part of one’s life as everyone faces challenges of different types in many parts of their life. It’s how we face those challenges and overcome them, develops us as an individual. Challenges expose us to a different set of problems and it’s on us to find solutions to those problems and that’s how we learn and grow. I’ve also faced my fair share of challenges.
The most challenging and transforming year for me was the year 2018-2019 because that was the year I took a drop for preparing for MBA. Pursuing an MBA was the first career-related decision that I took for myself after a lot of thinking. I’d already attempted the MBA exams in 2018 but due to unsatisfactory results in written test, group discussion and personal interviews I wasn’t able to get into even a single college, leading me to believe that I’m not competent enough for the profession, also the added peer pressure was weighing down on me. But I pulled myself together and started introspecting as to where was I lacking, what were my weaknesses and strengths and how can I improve myself, based upon those weaknesses in the way I wasn’t able to, before and started preparing for the exams again since my ambitions required me to do so. After realizing my weakness by past experiences, I started working hard on my general knowledge, communication skills and public speaking skills. Even during that time to constantly check my performance and development in a real-time scenario, I applied for different jobs in sectors such as banking, consulting etc. but much to my dismay I was rejected in all of them. But more than the disappointment I felt a sense of sustainable learning. And since I was living alone in that duration a lot of times I had to encounter negative feelings and depression but what held me in that time was my drive for success, self-motivating skills and family and friends who helped me in carving the path to a better future in one of the topmost MBA institutes of the country and turning my dreams into reality. Finally, when the results for NMIMS arrived and I came to know that I’ve been selected for the MBA program I thought to myself, one of many challenges have been completed but there is a long journey ahead.
Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life
One day, while I was hanging out with my friend, I asked him where he bought his clothes from because I found them to be of great quality. He promptly replied telling me that he was a loyal customer of People and I should also check the brand for myself. I heeded his advice and went to the nearest store, after a gratifying shopping experience, while checking out, I noticed a familiar logo that I’d seen before. It was the logo of Aditya Birla Group. I remembered that I’d already seen that logo before at many places like the banner of the Idea network, clothing brands like Van Heusen, Peter England (which, I used to think, is a foreign brand) making me realize that my life unknowingly has always been influenced by the offerings of Aditya Birla Group. This sparked off an interest to understand how broad the group’s diversity is, leading me to a startling finding- ranging from the copper used in Indian Trains, cables and wires, carbon black used to make durable tires for a safe journey, the cement used in the construction of buildings to many more products, ABG has been almost everywhere. And out of the above-mentioned products, some have been a very integral part of my life.
Since the first time I went to the people store, I’ve become a regular customer of the brand because of the value that is provided to me every time I visit the store. The first-ever Sim card that I used for my mobile phone was the idea network, and many times I’d seen my friends complaining about their phone network but since I never had that problem, my mother could be carefree about calling me anytime. The list of the products that I’ve used that come under the umbrella of the ABG goes a long way but the impact of ABG has been very big for both my family and me.
