# Leadership & Entrepreneurship:
To groom the leader of tomorrow, SJMSOM organizes Leadership Lecture Series, Continuum and Diksha along with a compulsory course on ‘Leadership, Vision and Entrepreneurship’.
SJMSOM, IIT Bombay invites doyens from the industry and academia to impart valuable learning and insights from their rich experience. These leaders, bring with them first-hand perspectives and nuances on the topics of concern and share their thoughts and views with the students. Attending these sessions provoke the students to understand & appreciate the challenges these business leaders are posed with and how they dealt with it.
Society for Innovation and Entrepreneurship is an umbrella for the promotion of entrepreneurship at IIT Bombay. SINE administers a business incubator that provides support for technology – based entrepreneurship.
# Academics:
It is no secret the academic rigour with which students of SOM go through, be it assignments, projects, quizzes, or cases preparation before the class. Students are taught a valuable lesson in time management. And it goes unsaid that the deadlines are sacrosanct.
In the case based method, the method of instruction at SOM, in which professors probe the minds of students, this student – teacher interaction brings out nuances of the case in the group and enhances the learning experience of the batch and the students.
The faculty pushes the limits to achieve a level of excellence in the school, working with industry leaders, undertaking various research projects and exploring new avenues of management.

What makes the SJMSOM, IIT Bombay a true B-school, is the people involved in it.
Faculty: As the IIT Bombay motto says “Knowledge is the Supreme Goal”. And the faculty at SOM, IIT Bombay, who are some of the renowned academics and professors who work tirelessly to impart management learnings to their students.
Students:
Students studying at SJMSOM, are some of the most passionate, hardworking and talented kids that a recruiter looks in any b-school. The conducive environment exists in the batch where students who have work experience offer insights to other students about the industry they have worked in.
Not only the students perform academically well but also participate in various club like dramatics, photography, sports and blend in with the IIT culture of nurturing talent.
Which ABG company would you want to work for and why?
Aditya Birla Group is a very huge and a successful conglomerate from manufacturing to retail. This itself is a rare and unique opportunity for a student from the campus, who will be having an opportunity to work and learn about different set of industries, business which offer different functions.
My preferred choice to work in ABG will be under Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail. Having worked in past two years as a Business Analyst in Retail Sector. While my role was a backend role where I looked at sales, purchase and consumer behaviour and identified some key trends and gave some recommendations to client. I would like to build upon that knowledge and understand the depth of industry, interacting with various stakeholders, to understand customer psyche and many more learnings that will follow.
