Part A – Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life
I, being a frequent shopper of clothing, always had a proclivity towards dressing elegantly and gracefully, which were signs of brands like Van Heusen and Louis Philippe. But as a teenager, I always perceived those to be foreign brands. But one time a few years back, I visited a Planet Fashion showroom and came across that Van Heusen and Louis Philippe apparels side by side. The thought that came into my mind was how can two competitors be placed together and what made these two brands to bind up. I was amazed to find that both brands I always perceived as Foreign were, in fact, Indian and that too of the same organization – Aditya Birla Group. ABG whom I acknowledged as one of the leading construction material organization was also the same one who produces these clothes to providing the raw materials to the Indian Railways, in a subtle manner, they have become indispensable in our lives.
After reading more about ABG, I came across CSR, and environmental activities done by it. From building Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital to building academies and institutions for supporting and promoting higher education. Giving back to the society is a cause that has been close to my heart, and hence, I have grown to appreciate the initiatives taken by Aditya Birla Group. With such a solid vision to add to the nation, ABG has assembled a real picture of being a minding corporate citizen and hence, it has evoked genuine emotion with individuals of all socio-economic groups. Following up on an ethos of liberality and sympathy is the foundation of their CSR arrangement, which will work in keeping up their image for a long time to come.
Part B – How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far
The mistake of not being focused on preparing for IIT-JEE coaching in high school is one of the decisions I regret most in life. I was able to score just sufficient marks to clear JEE-Mains exam. I had many expectations from myself that I can do better. After realizing that I wanted to go for a drop and start preparing competitively but during that time, my parents disagreed with letting me go for a drop. So I had to go for my second best interest of pursuing graduation in mathematics from Delhi University and overpass by the dream of being an IITian. I regret my unpunctual behavior, I exhibited that time.
Being a Mathematics graduate, My life has always revolved around numbers, but I don’t want just to end up adding them, I want to do analysis behind them and formulate them for the benefit of the organization. So I decided to go for an MBA but choosing to advance in a career in management, there needs to be gain of many other parameters that define your role in an organization. A manager needs to be skilled in managing every situation he encounters, which requires leadership, communication, decision-making skills, etc. And this time I had determined that this time I won't repeat my mistake, if its MBA then it had to be from an institute of national importance, an IIM. I prepared hard along with my current studies, read a lot about how finance and analytics helped in changing the situations of the organizations. Having good percentile, I got admission in IIM Rohtak.
