Tirtha has been chosen as one of the top 50 most employable candidates across schools and programmes in India for the Class of 2016. He has one of the best 50 profiles among the candidates who participated in the Best50 competition.   About Me I am a final year student of XLRI, Jamshedpur majoring in Marketing and Operations. I graduated in Electrical Engineering from NIT Durgapur and then worked for 3 years in ABB Ltd. After a  year in Sales and Marketing pf Variable High-Frequency Drives, I wanted to understand more about the product and spent 2 years in Electrical Design of the same product. I individually executed projects worth 400 MINR during my stint as a Design Engineer. It also gave me a hands-on experience in something I am passionate for- Energy efficiency. After a good learning experience at ABB, I joined XLRI in BM. I have interned with Aditya Birla Chemicals (Thailand) Ltd for my summers and worked on a couple of strategy projects. I have had an extremely rounded MBA experience with strong achievements both in academics and extracurriculars. My marketing CQPI (at the time of application) is 8/8. I have had a successful run in the business case study contests : National Finalists at Case study contests by RB and P&G; Campus runners-up at Mahindra War Room and second runners-up at Asian Paints Canvas; Campus finalists at case studies by Yes Bank, Nestle, Coca Cola, J&J, SAB Miller and GSK CH. I have also done a live project for HUL on sales resource optimisation in Jamshedpur. I am a part of the Marketing Association at XLRI (MAXI) and am the go-to-person for anything related to market research. In my capacity as a senior executive member of MAXI, I have authored the case study for the finals of the marketing event, Circus Maximus (part of Ensemble 2015) and also arranged for live projects for the batch. I was a founding member and the Technical Head at the IEEE Students' Chapter in NIT Durgapur and organised the first International Conference on Emerging Technologies (ICET). I have always had a keen sense of social responsibility. As a volunteer for an NGO in Bangalore, I had set up a science laboratory in a government school. Recently, as a part of the RB Mavericks Challenge, I led a handwash behaviour change campaign in Beldih Basti (3500 residents) and installed 100 frugal and innovative handwash stations in the community. The campaign created a lot of buzz and was covered by national daily's The Telegraph and The Pioneer and was the first step for them to a disease free life. I have been strongly involved in sports and fitness and believe that the key to a healthy mind is a healthy body. In my free time, you would mostly find me on my bike or in the gym. My other interests include Electronic Music and am the occasional DJ at our parties (sometimes to the dismay of my friends). I believe that no situation is so bad that it cannot be overcome and that the pressure situations in our lives are our biggest opportunities. The way I held my family together and took it out of a major crisis a couple of years back is something I am most proud of. What have you done at your Post-Grad/Business School/Undergrad level that makes you stand out from the crowd? I have been successful at the national level B-school competitions with my ability to understand case situations and to provide solutions. B-School Competitions: National finalists and PPI recipient (final placements) of P&G CEO Challenge and the ongoing RB Mavericks Challenge. Presently I am implementing a hand-wash behaviour change campaign for the RB Mavericks challenge in a slum at Jamshedpur. Campus finalists and PPO recipient (Summer Internship) from SAB Miller for their case challenge Campus finalists and PPI recipient (Summer internship) from GSK CH for their case study on malnutrition in India Campus Runners up of Mahindra War Room 2015 Campus finalists of ongoing case studies by Nestle and Yes Bank Campus finalists of case studies by Coca-Cola for designing a marketing campaign celebrating 100 years of the Coke curve. Marketing Enthusiast: I have been a marketing enthusiast right from the onset and have secured the maximum grade A+ in all Marketing subjects and have a marketing CQPI of 8/8. I am also entrusted with taking remedial sessions for my batchmates in marketing subjects like Market Research and Consumer Behaviour. Similarly, during my Engineering days, I was an Electrical Engineering enthusiast. Seeing that there was no student body to represent and further the cause of EE in the college, I played an instrumental role in founding the IEEE Students' chapter in my college and later became the technical head of the same. Academics have only been one part of my personality. I have had a very balanced college life with strong performances in sports, cultural and literary events. In all the rigours of the college life, I always find time for fitness. I am also a part of the party organising club of XLRI. The breadth of activities I have excelled at makes me stand out from the crowd.   Meet the rest of India’s 50 Most Employable Management Graduates from the Class of 2016 here.
