It's a fact - consulting is, by some margin, the most sought-after domain at most Indian b-schools; you see this in the
placement reports, and you see it in
surveys. But from amongst, probably, thousands,
which firms are the most desirable? Based on responses to our latest recruitment survey, we've listed out what MBA students think are the top consulting firms to work with.
MBB continue to be the top consulting firms, two Tata companies in the top ten
McKinsey, BCG, Bain — the
'holy trinity' of consulting firms are right on top, in that sequence. These firms have
never slipped out of the top-three and are dream recruiters at even top global b-schools. The MBB firms are followed by Accenture, which hires in big numbers at leading Indian b-schools, including the top IIMs. Kearney completes the top-five.
The big four also make it to the top-ten, with Deloitte, KPMG, EY and PwC appearing in the rankings in that sequence (as was the case
last year). Also like last year, two Tata companies feature in the big leagues, with TSMG and TCS sharing the tenth spot. They're also the only two Indian firms to feature in the top-ten.

How we created this list
We reached out to the batch of 2023 and 2024 across India's top MBA colleges to share with us their most desirable recruiters. Based on the responses received, a weighted score was computed, which led to the overall rankings.
Students responding to this survey belong to business schools like IIMs ABCLIK, as well as second and third generation IIMs. Respondents also belong to campuses such as FMS, XLRI, SPJIMR, ISB, MDI Gurgaon, SIBM Pune, IIFT, and NMIMS Mumbai amongst others.
