Then, these 50 words are going to add value to your vocabulary list. These are some of the 50 words which I came across while preparing for the vocabulary section in CAT. Though it is not going to happen overnight, regular reading can help your vocabulary to become rich. Here are some of the words which you can add to your list and to sound elite and educated in society. Just have a look at these words! 1)DISPOSITION:- a person's inherent qualities of mind and character. 2)DIAPHANOUS:- (especially of fabric) light, delicate, and translucent 3)POCKET:- a small patch of something 4)SQUASH:- suppress or subdue (a feeling or action). Or crush or squeeze (something) with force so that it becomes flat, soft, or out of shape. 5)HAUL:- (of a person) pull or drag with effort or force. Or (of a vehicle) pull (an attached trailer or carriage) behind it. 6)INDEFATIGABILITY:-  unwearying energetic. possessing or exerting or displaying energy. 7)TORPID:- mentally or physically inactive; lethargic. 8)VANQUISH:- defeat thoroughly. 9)DESULTORY:- lacking a plan, purpose, or enthusiasm 10)OSTENSIBLE:- stated or appearing to be true, but not necessarily so. 11)CURSORY:- hasty and therefore not thorough or detailed. 12)CONVIVIAL:- (of an atmosphere or event) friendly, lively, and enjoyable 13)DECANADE:-  Each decan has a ruler which becomes the sub ruler of the sign or the co-ruler of that sign 14)INDOLENT:- wanting to avoid activity or exertion; lazy. 15)SOMNAMBULIST:- a situation in which a person walks around while they are sleeping. 16)MALADROIT:- inefficient or inept; clumsy 17)GAIT:- a person's manner of walking 18)COLLOQUIAL:- (of language) used in ordinary or familiar conversation; not formal or literary. 19)LOQUACIOUS:- tending to talk a great deal; talkative. 20)DRIBBLING:- (of a liquid) fall slowly in drops or a thin stream. 21) Abnegation:- the action of renouncing or rejecting something. 22)Abrogate:- repeal or do away with (a law, right, or formal agreement). 23)Adumbrate:- represent in outline 24)Aggrandize:- increase the power, status, or wealth of. 25)Alacrity:- brisk and cheerful readiness. 26)Anachronistic:- belonging to a period other than that being portrayed. 27)Debauch:- destroy or debase the moral purity of; corrupt. 28)Demagogue:- a political leader who seeks support by appealing to popular desires and prejudices rather than by using rational argument. 29)Emollient:- having the quality of softening or soothing the skin. 30)Grandiloquent:- pompous or extravagant in language, style, or manner, especially in a way that is intended to impress. 31)Idiosyncratic:- relating to idiosyncrasy; peculiar or individual. 32)Legerdemain:- skilful use of one's hands when performing conjuring tricks. 33)Linchpin:- a person or thing vital to an enterprise or organization 34)Mawkish:- sentimental in an exaggerated or false way 35)Obstreperous:- noisy and difficult to control. 36)Palliate:- make (a disease or its symptoms) less severe without removing the cause. 37)Pejorative:- expressing contempt or disapproval. 38)Pertinacious:- attempting to impress by affecting greater importance or merit than is actually possessed. 39)Sanctimonious:- making a show of being morally superior to other people. 40)Ubiquitous:- present, appearing, or found everywhere. 41)Vicissitude:- a change of circumstances or fortune, typically one that is unwelcome or unpleasant 42)Vituperate:- blame or insult (someone) in strong or violent language. 43)Winsome:- attractive or appealing in a fresh, innocent way. 44)Yoke:- a wooden crosspiece that is fastened over the necks of two animals and attached to the plough or cart that they are to pull. 45)Zephyr:- a soft gentle breeze. 46)Wily:- skilled at gaining an advantage, especially deceitfully. 47)Tirade:- a long, angry speech of criticism or accusation. 48)Finicky:- (of a person) fussy about their needs or requirements 49)Pogrom:- an organized massacre of a particular ethnic group, in particular that of Jews in Russia or eastern Europe. 50)Incessant:- (of something regarded as unpleasant) continuing without pause or interruption.
