Meet Vishesh Kumar, a first-year student at IIFT. Before his tenure at IIFT, Vishesh served as the Business Development Associate at Oodles Technologies. In this role, he skillfully managed relationships with 60 global clients, contributing to a revenue of $12,000. Vishesh, a top 1% performer in his B.Tech at Guru Tegh Bahadur Institute of Technology, extends his passion for education through his role as Head Coordinator of the Study Buddy YouTube channel, boasting 2 lakh subscribers. Dedicated to social impact, he actively fundraised during the Covid-19 lockdown as an intern at the Youth Empowerment Foundation NGO, directing funds toward providing essential resources to those in need. In addition to his academic prowess, Vishesh displays a keen interest in geopolitics and financial markets. Vishesh Kumar adopts a systematic approach to problem-solving, breaking down complex issues into manageable parts. An example is his creation of a real estate price prediction model to address the challenge of finding a reasonably priced home. By collecting and analyzing data, filtering redundant information, and developing algorithms, he successfully predicted house prices. This approach emphasizes breaking down complex problems and addressing them step by step. In handling failure, Vishesh views setbacks as learning opportunities. For instance, after not winning a hackathon with a healthcare chatbot, he analyzed the failure. Recognizing the importance of thorough research, he applied the lesson in the next hackathon, creating a successful chatbot for farmers. This experience highlights the ability to learn from setbacks and apply insights to achieve success. During an ethical dilemma in an engineering project, Vishesh opposed copying another project to meet the deadline. He held a virtual meeting with the team, discussing the ethical implications and emphasizing the importance of maintaining integrity in academic work. Through open communication, he convinced the team to abandon the unethical approach and find a solution within the project's constraints. In a negotiation scenario at Oodles Technologies, Vishesh advocated for a direct conversation with a client rather than relying solely on a document. Despite initial resistance from his manager, he successfully negotiated and conducted a call with the client. When challenged with estimating project costs without his manager present, he reassured the client and later collaborated with his manager to provide a comprehensive document. This approach secured the project for development, emphasizing the importance of clear communication and adaptability in negotiations. Vishesh believes he deserves recognition as one of India's most promising incoming MBA students for his academic excellence, leadership impact, adaptability, problem-solving skills, ethical decision-making, and passion for continuous learning and personal growth. His diverse interests and commitment to ethical conduct further contribute to his well-rounded profile.
