How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?
“A man without ambition is like a bird flying without directions”. However, like most people, my ambition was also blurred. Coming from a lower middle-class family, I could not afford to be too ambitious. The plan was very simple – Go for engineering, land yourself a job and live happily thereafter. I followed the plan, overcame many challenges and landed myself a corporate space, straight from the campus. This was supposed to be the best days of my life however, life there was full of challenges. Right from the beginning, competitive environment ensured that I was always busy backing numbers rather than the facts. Responsibilities given to me was not a cakewalk and coordinating the team to follow the common goal was huge task. Office politics is something which poses a serious challenge for any newcomer to the corporate life and I was not spared as well. There was always an undying need for recognition and appreciation for all the hard work I put in. Challenges like this put me in a spot where I gradually started developing an ambition to aim for bigger heights and role. I started utilizing the break time to meet new people, understand their profile and learn from the challenges that they faced. Slowly, this reciprocated into a routine which was a perfect mix of concentrated efforts towards my work and friendly relations at my workplace. It took some time for me to realize that balancing the office work and studying for MBA was an uphill task. However, with proper coordination and a mutual understanding within the team provided me the much-needed time to focus on my goal. I gave it all to make the journey focused yet, interesting and fruitful. There was no room for any deviation as it could impact both my professional and personal life. This is how I rose above the challenges of self-doubt and finally managed to be with the brightest minds of the country in one of the premier B schools –
