1. Rankings and Accreditations:
As per the latest
Outlook-Icare India MBA rankings, IIM Indore has been placed at
number 4, behind IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad, and IIM Calcutta. This ranking evaluates the top public MBA institutes on the basis of four parameters – Research, Employability, Faculty Quality, Inclusiveness & Diversity.
As per the
World Quacquarelli Symonds (World QS) Global MBA Rankings 2020, IIM Indore has been placed in the
101+ band, and among other Indian B-schools, it is at number 4, behind IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad and IIM Calcutta. This ranking ranks B-schools across 4 categories – Business Analytics, Finance, Management and Marketing.
When it comes to
NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) MBA Rankings, as of 2019, IIM Indore is in the
5th position, behind IIM Bangalore, IIM Ahmedabad, IIM Calcutta, and IIM Lucknow.
In addition to that, IIM Indore is accredited by
EQUIS for three years, making it the second business school in India to receive the
Triple Crown with AACSB, AMBA and EQUIS Accreditations. Also, it has been re-accredited by
AMBA for five years, the maximum possible period.
2. Network-building in IIM Indore:
With the largest batch size across all IIMs, a candidate is exposed to a
wide network of students to interact with, all of whom have d
ifferent educational as well as cultural backgrounds and one learns to appreciate the myriad of opinions one can get on any topic. That being said, it is not just the one batch that the candidate can reach out to. With greater batch size, comes a
wider alumni base one can reach out to. This helps in network-building, which is one of the major aspects of an MBA course.
3. Industry Interaction:
IIM-I understands the importance of providing real-time exposure to the industry dynamics and hence values its industry interaction. This year an industry interaction program was instituted for the first year students wherein they regularly visited industries in and around Indore. During the program that spanned three terms, the students were allocated industry-specific projects. Besides, a prudent mix of technical workshops, business workshops by corporates and guest lectures by industry veterans keeps the students updated with the realities of the business world.
4. Faculty:
IIM Indore currently has about 90 full-time faculty members on its rolls. This faculty strength coupled with a vibrant Fellow programme makes it an ideal place for academic pursuits. Faculty is excellent. The level of class interaction and concept communication is definitely above what you used to have in graduate college. The feedback mechanism helps wherein any constructive feedback is incorporated in the course design swiftly. The variety of subjects offered is also good with there being something for everyone.

6. Infrastructure:
IIM Indore has a sprawling
200-acre campus to accommodate the largest batch size across all IIMs. Great hostel accommodation, excellent sports facilities, and world-class academic facilities – it has them all. It also boasts of an
800-seater auditorium – one of the largest among all IIMs. In addition to that, the IIM Library is a three-storeyed building that has access to the best of the databases.
7. Placements:
Let’s face it – Every MBA candidate might have a few key takeaways he/she hopes to have by the end of an MBA course, and one of the major takeaways is a good placement. IIM Indore’s placement scenario has been stellar. Even with huge batch size, there has never been any compromise on the placement front. As of 2019, for a batch of
607 students, the highest salary has been
Rs.89.25 LPA and the average salary is
Rs.20.79 LPA. The highest domestic salary in 2019 is
Rs.40.5 LPA.
