It feels great to be part of such rich heritage, lineage, brand name and little bit of glamour IIM’s carry with them. The first college I converted was NIRMA in April 2018, which a great college but my expectations were different. After two days I converted XIMB Bhubaneshwar, and left NIRMA, and then by the end of April I got confirmation calls from IIT Kanpur and IIT Roorkee.
But I was hoping, expecting and praying to be privileged enough to be a part of IIM’s lineage and my heeds were addressed on 22nd of May 2018. I converted IIM Raipur and IIM Kashipur, I did my research, discussed with my friends in other B Schools, talked to people in this field and reached to a decision after unanimous suggestion and a few insistences as well, to definitely join IIM Raipur, after being part of IIM Raipur family I got call from IIM Udaipur as well, and it did not take me much time to think and decide to stick with Raipur.
There is not a single day that goes by, when I do not feel glad that I chose IIM Raipur. We are currently in Temporary campus, but I believe and have experienced as well, that the people you are with matters more than the place you are in with them. If you are with friends, just to a trip to Raipur city or even magneto mall may become memorable and if you are alone or not with the right company, a trip to Goa or Las Vegas can go horribly.
And I can say this with absolute certainty that there is not a single student in my batch who is not interesting, different in a unique way or has something unique to offer. This makes each day more interesting, I get the opportunity to talk and pick minds of people from all over the country and from diverse backgrounds. PGP 2017-19 batch has at the same time left no stone unturned to make us comfortable and on our toes at the same time, I believe we will thank them for making us ready for the challenges life will throw at us both personally as well as professionally. I feel privileged and proud at the same time, that I got this opportunity to be a part something bigger than me, something that really matters and something that is worth fighting for, and no matter where we are in future, IIM in general and IIM Raipur in particular, will be the thread that ties us and will bring us all together.
