Woxsen University boasts a 100% placement record for its MBA program. But what does that truly mean for aspiring graduates? What kind of salaries do Woxsen MBA students end up with during placements? Who hires the average Woxsen MBA graduate every year? Join us as we dissect the data and navigate the realities of Woxsen University’s placement success, and go into why students from across India (21 states!) choose the Woxsen MBA over the rest.

Sustained growth in MBA salaries at Woxsen

Over the past four years, Woxsen University has seen steady growth in MBA salaries. For instance, between 2020 and 2023, the median salary has risen by 31%. The highest package has gone up from 13 lakhs in 2020 to 17 lakhs in 2023 ‒ that’s a 31% increase, with a 23% jump between 2020 and 2021 alone! Even in 2022, when the job market was down as businesses were reeling from COVID, Woxsen University still posted growth in average and median salaries for the MBA batch. Notably, between 2020 and 2023, the average of the top-20% salaries has grown by almost 1.5x without a single dip. Compare this with other similarly-ranked business schools, and Woxsen comes out on top and showcases solid growth.

What’s more, Woxsen’s ongoing final placements for its batch of 2024 also appear to be as promising as previous years, with:
● The highest package touching 19 lakhs
● Average package at 9.07 lakhs
● Median package at 8.80 lakhs
● 95 companies (so far) participating in the recruitment process

Pretty impressive for a university that launched its MBA program just under a decade ago.

Product Marketing, Brand Management and Business Development most preferred function for Woxsen MBA batches

Function-wise placement trends show that typically, at least half of Woxsen’s MBA students across batches are hired for Product Marketing, Brand Management & Business Development roles. This trend does seem to be dipping, as more companies offer financial services, analytics, strategy, and HR profiles.

BFSI, IT/ITeS and Services top recruiting industries at Woxsen

Trends suggest that Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance companies hire a major chunk of Woxsen’s MBA batches, with companies in the IT/ITes sector coming in at a close second. Technology companies (including IT and EdTech vertical) account for between 30-40% of all hires at Woxsen University. We expect this number to go up as the tech job market starts to ease up. Consulting and Strategy hiring has ebbed and flowed in recent years, but there is clear recruitment interest from this sector. Real Estate and FMCG/FMCD companies have shown unwavering interest in hiring Woxsen MBA graduates.

Top brands show faith in Woxsen MBA talent

Woxsen University’s placement numbers look good, but which companies are hiring Woxsen MBAs? Turns out, some of the biggest names across industries. IT and tech leaders including IBM, TCS, Mircon, Aon Hewitt, Hitachi, Tech Mahindra, Cigniti, Dell, and many others have recruited from Woxsen University over the past 3-4 years. BFSI companies like Morgan Stanley, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, Piramal Finance, UBS, Standard Chartered, Federal Bank, Bajaj Allianz, S&P Global, Aditya Birla Capital, and many other industry bigwigs also recruit from Woxsen University. Companies like Deloitte, KPMG, and EY that frequently hire for Consulting and Strategy profiles from India’s top b-schools also hire from Woxsen University. Woxsen has also seen frequent participation from conglomerates including the Aditya Birla Group, Adani Group, Amazon, ITC, Piramal Group, Pfizer, L&T, and many others. Retail and FMCG companies also hire from Woxsen, with the most recent hires being made by giants like Cafe Coffee Day, Hindware, Dukes, and Hafele. High-growth companies across EdTech, FinTech, and SaaS verticals have also frequently participated in and hired during Woxsen’s final placements process, with the likes of Scaler, PhonePe, Codeyoung, Phyllo, GoComet, Perspect AI, Regalix, Silicon Labs, and TalentServe hiring MBA talent.

Why MBA students who aced entrances chose the Woxsen MBA over the rest (even IIMs!)

Woxsen University launched its MBA program in 2014, but has already become the top choice for MBA aspirants, with some even dropping offers from leading institutes to join Woxsen.

Keerthana’s IIM dilemma

Keerthana Varma is a shining example of this, choosing Woxsen over IIMs Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Calcutta. Keerthana had a fantastic profile, nailed CAT with a 98%ile score, and received offers from dream b-schools. But being spoilt for choice is a challenge in itself, especially when it comes to high-stakes decisions like higher education. To make the right decision, Keerthana chose to go beyond the allure of the IIM tag and focused on choosing a program that aligned with her career goals. So what tipped the scales in Woxsen's favour? Its unique and specialized focus on Business Analytics as a major. Such specialized programs are scarce, and Woxsen's dedication to this field resonated deeply with Keerthana's career aspirations.

Kirti Chooses Forward Thinking Curriculum & International Standard Infrastructure

Kirti Nandan scored a competitive 220 on the NMAT exam and had a non-engineering profile. Naturally, she received calls from some of India’s most well-known b-schools like Woxsen University, NMIMS & others. Now, Kirti had a tough choice to make. Kirti’s requirements were clear: she needed an MBA education based on a forward-thinking curriculum. NMIMS was a conventional choice, but it didn't fully align with her needs. Woxsen, however, ticked all the boxes for her, standing out with its up-to-date courses and practical initiatives. “I found Woxsen to be very updated with emerging topics, and what stood out about it is the facilities or regular initiatives they would take up to implement them seamlessly.”

Sayed chooses a diverse peer group

After graduating as a mechanical engineer and working as a professor, Sayed Ashar Azharuddin aimed for an MBA to broaden his career prospects. Sayed attempted CAT, achieved an impressive 92%ile score, and was shortlisted by multiple b-schools. His top choice was Woxsen University because he wanted to stay in Hyderabad. Sayed had very clear expectations from his MBA: he needed a b-school with a relatively small batch size for more focused learning and better placement prospects. He also prioritised diversity: both in the curriculum as well as the classroom. Woxsen Business School caught his attention for its unique blend of a divergent curriculum and a diverse batch of peers from 21 states across India and a rich learning environment. And just like that, the choice became simple for Sayed.

Choose a b-school that matches your goals

Keerthana's story highlights a crucial aspect often overlooked in the pursuit of business education – finding a program that not only fits your academic needs but also resonates with your personal and professional aspirations. “Choosing a business school is not just about chasing a brand name, but about making a strategic investment in your future. It's about ensuring a perfect blend of passion and practicality, paving the way for a successful path filled with knowledge, growth, and career excellence,” says Keerthana to MBA aspirants at a decision-making stage. Sayed agrees, advising aspirants to “choose a b-school objectively based on the value the institution can add, considering factors like the school's reputation, placement opportunities, location, and feasibility. Researching the curriculum and considering fee considerations are also important.” But Kirti sums it up best: “Be clear about what you want! There will be a hundred reasons why an option is good or bad, but you need to ask yourself - “Is this good for my future? The answer will help you make a decision you’ll never regret.”
