The official notification for the XAT 2021 examination has been released! Here are the most important details from the XAT 2021 notification, including important dates, and answers to frequently asked questions. Also included are past papers' analysis and XAT preparation tips from XAT toppers and XLRI student and alumni.

XAT 2021 - Important Dates To Keep In Mind

The XAT 2021 exam will be conducted on 3rd January 2021 from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Registrations for the XAT 2021 exam will commence on 12th September 2020 and will close at midnight on 30th November 2020. The exam will be conducted in online mode. Candidates can download their admit cards from 20th December 2020 onward. Registration for the XAT 2021 exam will cost Rs. 1750 (without late fee) and candidates interested in XLRI programmes need to pay an additional fee of Rs. 300 each. With the exam scheduled for 3rd January 2021, candidates appearing for CAT 2020 will have just over 31 days between the CAT 2020 exam and the XAT 2021 exam.

How To Register For XAT 2021 - Important Instructions

1. Name of the candidate or his/her Father’s name/ Mother’s name etc. should be spelt correctly in the application as it appears in the Certificates/Mark sheets/Identity proof. Any change/alteration found may disqualify the candidature. 2. Candidates can proceed to Scan and upload Photo & Signature as per the specifications given in the Guidelines. 3. Candidates can proceed to fill Academic and Work experience details of the Application Form. Click on the Preview Tab to preview and verify the entire application form before FINAL SUBMIT. 4. Modify details, if required, and click on "SUBMIT" ONLY after verifying and ensuring that the photograph, signature uploaded and other details filled by you are correct.' Applicant details can not be edited once the application form is submitted after payment.' 5. Select XLRI programmes as per your preference if you want to study at XLRI. (Through XAT or Through GMAT) 6. Select the XAT Test City preference. Candidates can choose 2 preferred test cities while filling XAT Application form. Candidates are advised to choose test city closer to their city of residence. However, the final authority to allot the TEST CITY rests with authority. (You can edit the test city preference only once before November 30, 2020.) 7. Click on the "Payment" Tab and Proceed for payment. 8. Click on the "Submit" button. XAT 2021 - Frequently Asked Questions

The following are answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the XAT exam:
Questions About The XAT 2021 Test
Q1. What is the eligibility criteria for the XAT 2021 exam? Recognized Bachelor’s Degree of minimum three years duration or equivalent in any discipline. Those completing their final examination by June 10, 2021 may also apply. All Indian candidates must appear for XAT 2021. However, NRI and Foreign candidates may apply through GMAT score. Q2. When will I receive the XAT 2021 admit card? The XAT 2021 admit card will be available for download 20th December 2020 onward from the official XAT 2021 website. Q3. How long will the XAT 2021 test be? The duration of the XAT 2021 exam will be 3 hours, i.e., from 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. Candidates will, however, be expected to reach their test centers much sooner than 9:30 AM for security check and document verification. Q4. When will the XAT 2021 results be out? Usually, the XAT 2020 results are released in the second half of January in that year. In 2020, the XAT result was released on 17th January. More information about the XAT 2021 result date will soon be made available on the official XAT 2021 website. Q5. What are the sectional time limits for XAT 2021? Unlike the CAT 2020 exam, there will be no sectional time limits for XAT 2021. There will, however, be an overall time limit of 3 hours to attempt the exam. Q6. Is there an on-screen calculator in the XAT exam? Unlike CAT 2020, an on-screen calculator will not be available in the XAT 2021 exam. Q7. Which section will be first in the XAT 2021 exam? In XAT 2021, candidates can choose any section to begin with. The official XAT 2021 paper pattern has not been made available yet, but the paper pattern is not expected to change in 2021. There are usually two parts to the XAT exam:
  1. Part I (165 Minutes) - This part comprises 3 sections which are the Verbal & Logical Ability section, Decision Making section, Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation.
  2. Part II - (15 Minutes) - This part comprises 1 section which is the General Knowledge section.
Questions About The XAT 2021 Registration Process
Q8. After filling out and submitting my application form, can I make any corrections or changes to the details? It has been made clear that XLRI will "not entertain any changes in the Application form until it's very crucial. For that matter you need to raise a query by clicking "Any Query? Ask us" on your dashboard." Caution while filling out the XAT 2021 application form is imperative. Q9. I am in the final year of my graduation. What percentage should I fill in the application form? You will need to fill out the marks you have obtained in the last semester, till the time of filling the form. Q10. How do I calculate the aggregate marks for CBSE/SSC? Should I enter the best 5 or all the subjects? The candidate should take the aggregate of all the subjects for 10th. Q11. Is internship/Articleship considered work experience? Is work experience before graduation counted? Internship/Articleship is not counted as work experience. Only work experience post-graduation is counted. Q12. Which institutes accept XAT scores?
