In 2022, XLRI recorded an approximate 30% increase in the average and median salaries, with the average of the top-quarter of salaries offered standing at a whopping INR 43 lakhs! The batch also witnessed participation from a host of pre-eminent recruiters, including consulting top-tier consulting firms like the Boston Consulting Group, Bain, Kearney, Accenture Strategy, and others. XLRI Placements 2022 - Important Salary Highlights
- The highest domestic offer stood at over INR 60 lakhs for a role in the BFSI sector
- The average salary saw an impressive year-on-year increase of 28%, going from INR 23.91 lakhs to INR 30.7 lakhs
- The median salary also saw an impressive year-on-year increase of 30%, going from INR 23 lakhs to INR 30 lakhs
- The average of the top-10% of salaries stood at INR 48 lakhs, while the average of the top-25% of salaries stood at INR 43 lakhs

XLRI Placements 2022 - Key Recruitment Highlights
- All 427 candidates of XLRI's BM and HRM programs were hired for roles at top companies in 2022
- A total of 99 companies participated in the XLRI placements process, extending 437 domestic offers
- A total of 23 new recruiters participated in the final placement process, including American Express, Freshworks, Swiggy, Slice and Zynga amongst others
- The Boston Consulting Group (BCG), Bain and Co., Accenture Strategy - all leading consulting companies - extended the highest number of offers. Other top recruiters included marquee companies like Amazon, PayTM, ITC, and Microsoft
- This year, XLRI students received prestigious senior roles such as Associate Director and new economy roles such as Chief of Staff and Founder’s Office, offered by multiple recruiters
- The top domains based on the roles offered were Consulting, Sales & Marketing and BFSI. Consulting firms extended offers to 24% of the candidates. ITES, E-Commerce, Gaming & Online Services and Sales & Marketing constituted 27% and 25% of the roles offered to the students respectively
- Just over 40% of the batch received pre-placement offers (PPOs)
XLRI Placements 2022 - Sector Wise Recruiter Turnout
In 2022, a great number of recruiters continued to hire from the 'HR campus of India,' with companies like P&G, HUL, ITC, Colgate Palmolive, Marico, JP Morgan Chase and Co., Google, Samsung, Bajaj Auto, Myntra, Ola and others offering HR roles to XLRI students. In fact, consulting companies like PwC, EY, and Deloitte opened exclusive HR consulting roles for XLRI students. HR roles offered included HR Consulting, Recruitment, Compensation & Benefits, HR Analytics and Chief of Staff.
Top FMCG firms, including P&G, Hindustan Unilever, ITC, Colgate Palmolive, Asian Paints, Nestle, Samsung, Mondelez, Dabur, Reckitt, Pidilite, PepsiCo and others participated in the final placement process at XLRI.
Pharma companies like Cipla, Dr. Reddy’s, Sun Pharma, Thermofisher, Novozymes and others also hired from the institute. Real estate companies Lodha and M3M were new participating recruiters at XLRI in 2022. Within FMCG, Pharma and Real Estate sectors, roles in Strategy, Sales & Marketing, Product Supply, Operations, IT and Human Resources were offered to XLRI's graduating batch.
Consulting firms such as Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company, Kearney, Accenture Strategy, Aon, Deloitte, PwC, EY, Everest Group, and others participating in the XLRI placements process in 2022.
Goldman Sachs, J.P Morgan Chase, Avendus Capital, Citibank, ProgCap and Standard Chartered were major BFSI companies on campus. Companies in this sector extended highly sought-after roles like Front End Investment Banking, Asset Management, Portfolio Management, Global and Corporate Banking, Wealth Management, Global Markets, Equity Research, and Retail Banking.
In 2022, there was a major increase in hiring for Product Management & Programme Management roles. Top recruiters across ITES, E-commerce, and Online Services sectors included Amazon, PayTM, Microsoft, Google, Freshworks, Media.net, Walmart, Flipkart, Myntra, PhonePe, Star Disney, Uber, Ola, Jio Platforms, Times Internet, Info Edge, Udaan, Swiggy and Licious.
Gaming companies such as Zynga, Junglee Games, Games 24x7 and Dangal Games hired XLRI students for the first time.
Roles in General Management were offered by conglomerates such as TAS, Aditya Birla Group, Mahindra, Capgemini ELITE, Reliance Industries, Hinduja group and other firms.
