i5 Summit - an entrepreneurship fest organised by IIM & IIT Indore- says their purpose lies in facilitating connections between budding business ventures and the broader startup ecosystem.
Their flagship event is the Live Start-up Funding competition- GetFunded. A jury made up of IIM Indore’s eminent faculty thoroughly vets all the start-ups that apply. A selected few are invited to pitch their ideas to their elite panel of investors on the day of the event and compete for funding. The top 10 start-ups would be given an opportunity to offer live projects to the IIM Indore student community.
The winner and runner up of the event would get the opportunity to be featured on i5 Summit's and Dare2Compete's website and receive prize money up to Rs 50,000. But the primary purpose of GetFunded is to present your venture in front of accelerators, incubators and venture capitalists. Over the years, several start-ups operating in a variety of domains have received a total funding of INR 140 million.
The investors that have been a part of i5 Summit includes industry stalwarts as: the Wadhwani Foundation, Matrix Partners, Mumbai Incubator and Artha Ventures. I5 Summit makes it possible to not just receive funding from VC houses but also interact with them directly, through their event called Chai pe Charcha.
The start ups also get a chance to display their products and services to all participants in an event called the Start Up Expo.
The summit also organises workshops to ensure the participating start-ups leave with a wealth of knowledge. This year AIC prestige (an incubation centre operating under NITI Aayog) will be taking a workshop on Deck making and presentation skills vital for pitching your ideas. There are a lot more workshops planned for this version of i5 Summit including a workshop by 10XTD on “Going Digital”.
Last year’s virtual edition of the i5 Summit was a resounding success and it is back this year with its promise of exposure to in-depth industry knowledge and venture capital firms for all entrepreneurial enthusiasts!
