With cases rising in Mumbai, everyone around me was getting their flights preponed so that they could rush back home. N95 masks, gloves, sanitizers were the only things that I could see in all the rooms. There were detailed plans about how to avoid the virus at the airport. However, I was still trying to figure out if I really wanted to go to the airport, considering the huge exposure and my low body immunity.
My parents had said a strict no to public transport and road was the only option left!
"Should I ride my bike back home?"
"Will I be able to ride 1500 kilometers??
"Will it be safe?"
Such questions kept coming to my mind.
And then I decided that bike was the safest option for me as I’d be travelling solo and will avoid any human contact whatsoever. I’ll just have to halt somewhere on the highway, where I can use my sense of judgment to decide a safe and clean place to spend the night.
And so, I just packed my stuff and left Mumbai for a long journey, which I call call “Mission Meerut”.
The entire journey, right from leaving Mumbai to the point where I enter my home in Meerut has been visually captured and stitched together to make sure you are able to experience what I felt in those 33 hours during “Mission Meerut”
Well! It’s been 14 days and I am fine, so the decision paid off.
Stay safe. Keep washing your hands!
