Dance is not just a hobby for me, it’s a part of my soul. The sound of the ghoongroo on the big stage is enough to fire millions of neurons in my brain. I started dancing when I was just 6 years old. It was a solo dance competition in my school for the 1st grade. At the end of my first ever stage performance, the auditorium was reverberating with applause and energetic hoots. The feeling of having performed so phenomenally was further elated when I was awarded the first position in the competition. After that, there was no looking back.
Dancing has not just helped me to overcome my stage fear, but, also has imbibed self-discipline in me. The relentless strive to perfect every move in my performance has made me hardworking too. Before every performance, nervousness slowly builds up in me and I get worried about going absolutely blank on the stage. But the moment the music plays, I transcend myself into another dimension. The applause and hoot of the audience fuel my body, my moves, and my heart.
Dance is my stress buster. No matter how dark and gloomy a day might be, dance always becomes the silver lining to save the day. It's dancing which has carved out the person I am today. The discipline and principles of my life have grown from my experience over the years of performing on the big stage.
One day, I'll grow old, too frail to keep up with the rhythm of the music, but wherever there will be a stage with beats in the background, my soul shall always dance to the beats with a fiery passion for the art pouring out of my heart.
