- Performance Scorecard – I had to prepare the performance scorecard for the sales executives which had joined in the last one year. This project comprised of deciding on the parameters on which these employees should be judged and also preparing a relevant scale to measure the performance index.
- Talent Analytics – This project was of great interest to me as it allowed me to play with numbers, find correlation among data and finally establish a cause and effect relationship between independent parameters. I had to draw out inferences, on what parameters the employees should be hired so that the overall efficiency of the recruitment process increases and hence the productivity of the organization increases.
- Recommendations on the induction process for the new Joiners - Marico’s procedure of induction for their new joiners includes filling up of induction feedback form which serves as a requirement for successfully completing the induction. My task was to study these induction feedbacks and analyze - what can be improved? What is the plus point in their induction? What is it that the employees are looking for during the induction?
All the three projects were a gateway to meet my greater potentials and to my greater learning that ‘Human Resource Management’ is where my future lay. Over the course of my internship, I picked up skills of corporate communication, relevance in the field of work and the importance of being an assertive HR manager. But, all this couldn’t have been possible if Mr. Chandrashekhar Tripathi (Divisional Sales HR Manager – Marico), who was my mentor and guide at Marico wouldn’t have been there to help me with the projects. Even with his busy schedule, he ensured to take out time for me to resolve my queries and discuss the findings of my ongoing project.
The most challenging aspect of the job was to garner information from the employees. Marico being a work-oriented organization, every employee is loaded up with his own work, and amidst of this corporate hustle, it was difficult for me to seek data from them, which proved to be the first stepping stone for my project.
As a round-up, the two-month stint has given me an unparalleled wealth of knowledge and intricacies of execution. And is that not the purpose of a successful summer internship program?
