The Aditya Birla Group is big in the industrial space, being the 4th largest manufacturer of insulators, being the largest supplier of copper for the Indian railways, being the supplier of aluminium that goes into making of the screens for our phones, while making lives easier for the folks involved in the agricultural sector by manufacturing fertilizers, helping improve the yield as well as helping the agricultural sector, and those in it, improve by leaps and bounds. The Aditya Birla group is in the automotive space as well, helping make the roads safer by manufacturing Birla Carbon Nanoparticles, which are used for the manufacture of tyres.
The Aditya Birla Group is also involved in helping reduce distances between people, even if it's virtual, by providing fantastic telecom service in the form of Vodafone Idea Limited.
The beauty of ABG is that everyone uses ABG products and services in a way or another, without knowing about it. It’s a bubble that people live in, the bubble that makes things easier and seems obvious, but the absence of which will cause chaos. The Aditya Birla group is, in a way, the caring parents that provide a safe space, without ever implying that they do.
The biggest contribution of the Aditya Birla Group can be seen at every step on a stroll in any city of this country. Infrastructure is a very important part of any city/civilisation and that’s the very basic level from which the Aditya Birla Group has had a stronghold in the market. Everything that we see being constructed uses a very important material, without which construction cannot begin. Ultratech is one of the leading brands of the country with most of the engineers recommending the Ultratech Cement. Every structure that one sees outside has a hint of the Aditya Birla Group in it, and without the contribution of the group, it would be impossible for the masses to enjoy the luxuries in life that make our life convenient.
I have, in a way, being a small contributor to the infrastructure development of the country. Being a structural designer, I have been involved in the design and execution of many infrastructure projects, including multiple bridges and a nuclear power plant in Kakrapara, Gujarat. Even though it was a paid job, the impact that I had was that I was responsible for the safe design and construction of them, which were, or will be, ultimately used by the people, causing an increase in the standard of living, eventually making their lives simpler and convenient.
One other avenue where I have helped create an impact is when I used to teach the kids of my building staff. I had some free time, during which I indulged in teaching them music and some basic concepts relating to every subject. It did seem like it helped them a great deal, but it helped me even more. As cliched as it may sound, it helped me grow as a person.
