Part B: How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?
Everyone has faced challenges at some point in their lives. To challenge yourself, you need to believe in yourself and push yourself until the very end. When you challenge yourself, you learn new things about yourself, the boundaries which you considered your limits were actually not your boundaries until you tried breaking them off.
A similar incident happened in my life as well. Being a hydrophobic girl during my childhood, I always stayed away from water. Until one day during my summer vacation, I decided that I wanted to learn how to swim. On my first day, gathering all my determination, courage and will power, I went to the swimming pool and as soon as I entered it, my leg slipped and I started drowning. This incident broke me from inside and I became even more scared of water. It was my mother who believed in me and supported me during those trying times, and her constant encouragement made me believe that if I tried, I too can overcome my fear of water. Slowly and steadily I started learning swimming. At first I was very reluctant and refrained from going into the pool for days but in the end, I successfully learned how to swim. I gained expertise in swimming to such an extent that I qualified for Regionals and also during my swimming camp I won the award for being the most “Graceful Swimmer”.
Someone has rightly said that strength doesn’t come from what you can do. It comes from overcoming the things that you once thought you couldn’t. And I couldn’t agree more considering my first-hand experience in the same.
