Any exam we face is a battle. We have to plan it, prepare for it to conquer it. But many times it so happens that we need to get some reassurance; reassurance of whether our methods are right or confirmation of what we need to achieve something we dream of. We all need a pep talk from time to time. It is normal human nature to get inspired and look up to people who have reached someplace good in their life. CAT preparations can be stressful, and how much we tell us we will get through this, there are times where we just cannot explain why we are constantly thinking negative and not believing in ourselves. The best part is that it happens to the best of us. This post is for the time when you feel these things. We have collated some TED Talks for the time when your negativity punches you right in your gut, and when your self-belief goes haywire. It is obviously for everybody who needs some motivation; not to crack CAT but to believe that you can. The basic idea is to hang in there and watch the complete plot build up of the ted talk to get the maximum out of it.

1. If You Want To Achieve Your Goals, Don't Focus On Them.

The idea behind this motivational video is that in order to achieve our goal we need to stop focusing on our goals and start focusing on our habits to drive us there. If we keep on thinking about our goal and stop focusing on our habits we might never reach there. Do what is in your hand and stop thinking about the result.

2. The First 20 Hours - How To Learn Anything

This one, being my personal favourite, is a must watch. Josh Kaufman, the author of 'The Personal MBA: Master the Art of Business', as well as 'The First 20 Hours: Mastering the Toughest Part of Learning Anything.’, tells us about the techniques of learning something from a beginner to an expert level in just 20 hours. It just takes 20 hours to move your confidence from zero to the level of “self-motivated”, that is about 45mins a day for a month. But the catch is that those 20 hours do come with some “Terms and Conditions Applied”.

3. The “Skill” Of Self-Confidence

Here Dr Ivan Joseph tells us that he treats self-confidence as a “SKILL” which can be developed just by “practice, practice and practice”. I recommend watching this after you have watched “The First 20 Hours  - How To Learn Anything". He tells us to be stubborn with no negative self talk. In the world full of people telling us that we cant do something, we should never give up on ourselves.

4. Quit Social Media

Quitting social media can be called as an achievement in itself. Though it is quite important to have knowledge of social media updates about CAT or any other Exam for that matter. We want the viewer to focus on the “TIME WASTE” part where one can do a lot of things in the time saved. I want the viewers to grasp the concept explained in this video and smartly apply in their lives. Though the video is about the impacts of social media on us and the sneaky importance it has built in our lives it all boils down to self-thought and determination with which we try to implement this.

5. Be Success Seekers Rather Than Failure Avoiders

Here Prof.Scott Geller breaks down the thought process of what drives people towards success with simple techniques of breaking down hefty problems into simpler ones we can truly achieve anything they want.
Last but not the least I would like you to read about the Concept of Neuroplasticity. This concept, when understood better, will help you realize why “practice” is the key part of learning something or anything for that matter. Here are some videos that you can refer to:

I certainly hope that this compilation will definitely help you in some of the toughest times when you tend to give up on yourself.

Always remember why you started. All the best! If you have any favourite TED Talks, let me know in the comments below!
