Committees at B-Schools are a great place to hone one’s skills and pursue the passion of the self. DMS, IIT Delhi provides multitudinous opportunities for the students to gain skills ready for the corporate world.

There is a varied range of committees at DMS which undertake different responsibilities that help increase the brand name of DMS. It is the 2nd article of the series “ Introduction to Clubs and Committees at DMS", which gives a sneak peek into the life of DMS.

Placement Committee:

Corporate Relations and Placements Committee is a student body of the Department of Management Studies, IIT Delhi, that builds a continuously long-lasting, mutually beneficial association with organizations to bring ideal career opportunities for the students of DMS, IIT Delhi. The committee implements a holistic strategy to engage potential employers throughout the year through various engagement avenues, including guest lectures, webinars, live projects, corporate competitions, summer internships, and final placements.

The committee serves as a channel for connecting the bright and young future leaders of DMS, IIT Delhi, with the corporate world. In addition to focusing on corporate relations and placements, the committee ensures that students are introduced to the dynamic challenges experienced in the business world. Although the industry experienced significant disruptions in hiring processes due to the ongoing pandemic, the committee has been ensuring 100% placements, owing to the success of its strong partnerships with eminent corporate leaders and our esteemed alumni.

Cultural Committee:

The Cultural Affairs Committee of DMS, IIT Delhi (fondly called CultCom), aims to celebrate the cultural diversity on campus and ensure that students have a home-away-from-home feel at DMS. The committee organizes many activities and festivals, thus celebrating cultural similarities and differences, encouraging the campus's "Unity in Diversity".

Apart from celebrating and cherishing the festivals and events, the committee prides itself in organizing the flagship annual management, cultural, and sports festival of DMS, IIT Delhi, called "PARIVARTHAN". The festival hosts presentations, debates, case-study contests, quizzes, cultural events, sports competitions, and many more exciting events, attracting participation from premier B-schools and colleges across the country. This adrenaline-filled exciting event is not to be a missed one! All in all Cultural affairs committee fill colors of enjoyment in the student's life at DMS IIT Delhi.

Industry Interaction Committee:

Working closely with the industry, Industry Interaction Committee (IIC) fills the gap between academia and the corporate world through knowledge dissemination from Industry veterans across domains via Leadership Webinars, Conclaves, Summits, Competitions, and many more engaging activities throughout the session. B-Schools and industry, which for long have been operating in separate domains, are rapidly inching closer to each other to create synergies. IIC works in a mission mode to help students develop and refine competencies sought by the corporate world.

IIC organizes the Annual Conclaves in various domains that provide a platform for exchanging ideas among the best business minds of different fraternities in the country. IIC has hosted many eminent leaders through various leadership webinar series and conclaves. Building India Inc is the flagship event of IIC, which provides a platform for exchanging ideas amongst the best corporate and academic minds to deliberate on the nation's issues and challenges and share their experiences and views with a larger audience. The veterans from different domains talk about the various aspects to build India holistically.

International Relations Committee:

'International perspective' is a crucial ingredient in brewing effective leaders. Started with the motive to establish DMS, IIT Delhi globally, the International Relations Committee (IRC) is committed to improved relations with existing partners and forging new associations with emerging international business education powerhouses.

The committee conducts the flagship "Global Field Study (GFS)" program. During GFS, the students can visit international conglomerates and start-ups in equal measure and experience first-hand the global corporate culture. The students also see historical and cultural significance locations and imbibe in their culture as part of the GFS. Students are hosted by universities of countries pioneering in business practices such as Japan, Australia, Singapore, Germany, Malaysia, Italy, France, etc.

Sports Committee:

The Sports Affairs Committee of DMS, IIT Delhi, aims to maintain and enhance the sports spirit of students on campus and ensure that students enjoy the togetherness of a team and sport. The committee organizes many sports activities, including an offline and online mode that encourages interaction, coordination, sportsmanship, team spirit, bonding, and, most importantly, adds excitement to the journey of two years.

SportsCom works towards improving the sports environment in DMS amidst the intensive academic rigor. Apart from all these, the committee also organizes the flagship annual management, cultural, and sports festival of DMS, IIT Delhi, called "PARIVARTAN". The committee organizes a three-day sports fest and invites the top B-school across the country to participate in this fest.

Technical Committee:

The technical committee at DMS IIT Delhi is responsible for maintaining and enhancing the official website. The college website acts as the primary point of contact with the external world. The committee works to improve the first impression of the college by updating the portal with unique aspects and important information about the latest happenings in DMS.

The technical committee facilitates the procurement and distribution of laptops provided by the college. It also organizes events, quizzes, and case study competitions during the flagship annual management, cultural and sports festival of DMS, IIT Delhi.
