As the placement process for the MBA batch of 2021 concludes for most leading business schools, the true impact of the pandemic on placements has now been revealed. Some institutes - including leading business schools - have shown a marginal dip in the average salaries offered to their batches, while other campuses have seen a slightly lesser number of recruiters visiting to hire talent. The new IIMs have shown an increase in the median salary offered to their graduating MBA batch. So how have placements at baby IIMs been affected by the pandemic? IIM Nagpur Sees Increase & IIM Sirmaur Sees Decrease In Average And Median Salary In 2021

In 2021, there has been a varying impact of the pandemic on placements at the third generation IIMs. IIM Nagpur is the only third generation IIM to record an increase in both average and median salaries offered to the batch. IIM Bodh Gaya has also had a tremendously successful placements season, seeing an increase in the highest salary offered as well as the average salary. IIM Sirmaur has recorded a significant drop in the average salary offered to the batch, and has recorded the biggest drop in median salary offered amongst all the IIMs listed here. IIM Amritsar recorded a plummet of 55% and IIM Nagpur recorded a plummet of 52% in the highest salary offered to their MBA batches.

Sales & Marketing Number One Domain of Choice For Class of 2021 At Baby IIMs

Sales & Marketing emerged as one of the most sought-after domain at at least four of the six IIMs listed here. At IIM Sirmaur, a whopping 61% of the batch opted for Sales & Marketing roles, receiving an average salary of INR 9.64 lakhs. About 36% of the MBA batch at IIM Sambalpur, 37% of the batch at IIM Nagpur, and 38% of the batch at IIM Amritsar opted for Sales & Marketing roles.
