In 2021, Fortune magazine has released its first ever MBA rankings of American business schools, becoming yet another addition to various global MBA rankings such as the FT MBA rankings, QS MBA rankings, Businessweek's MBA rankings, and US News MBA rankings. Fortune's list of business schools features only the top American business schools in the country. Fortune has ranked these business schools based on the employment outcome, brand value, and number of C-suite alumni at Fortune 1000 companies. Here are the business schools which topped Fortune's MBA rankings of 2021.

Fortune MBA Rankings 2021 - Harvard, Stanford, Wharton Top American Business Schools

Based on the methodology followed by Fortune to generate its first-ever list of America's top business schools, Harvard Business School has topped the list of MBA rankings of 2021. The average HBS student gained admission to the elite business school with a score of 727 on the GMAT. Stanford GSB came in at second, followed by the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Also featuring amongst the top five is the Booth School of Business at the University of Chicago, and Kellogg at Northwestern.

With Acceptance Rates Below 20%, Stanford, Harvard & Columbia Are Toughest Business Schools To Get Into

Amongst all the 69 business schools that responded to Fortune's questionnaire, the toughest business school to get into is Stanford's Graduate School of Business which has an acceptance rate of less than 9%, implying that not even 1 in 10 Stanford applicants actually converts the grueling admissions process. Harvard has the second lowest acceptance rate at 11.5%, followed by the Columbia Business School at 16%. The highest rate of acceptance is at the Olin School of Business, where a massive 80% of all applicants are admitted to the MBA program. With a median salary of $93,600 and a relatively small batch of 162 students, applying to Olin School of Business may be on the minds of many MBA aspirants in 2021. The Gabelli School of Business has an acceptance rate of 71.2%, followed by the Mason School of Business at the University of William & Mary at 68.3%. It is the easiest to get admission to the MBA programs of these American business schools. Also Read → ISB Dethrones IIM Bangalore To Become India's Top B-School
