Gagan is a second-year MBA student at IIM Ahmedabad, bringing with him approximately 2 years of valuable work experience in the operations domain at Nestle. Despite his background in operations, he has developed a keen interest in the marketing domain, showcasing his versatility. With a natural flair for problem-solving, Gagan has excelled in various case and quiz competitions, securing victories in prestigious events hosted by Reckitt, Flipkart, and HCCB. Notably, he has been recognized for his outstanding performance with pre-placement offers (PPIs) from both Reckitt and Flipkart. In addition to his academic pursuits, Gagan holds the position of Secretary for Chaos, which is India's largest B-School Cultural Festival. This role demonstrates his dedication to extracurricular activities and his ability to manage responsibilities beyond academics. During the summers, Gagan completed his internship with the Marketing team at Reckitt, further enriching his knowledge and experience in the marketing field. Outside of his academic and professional endeavors, Gagan has a passion for cricket and has represented both his district and undergraduate (UG) cricket teams at the All India Universities (AIU) level. Moreover, he finds solace in spending his leisure time immersed in the world of music.
Gagandeep Verma led a team in the Rural Immersion Program near Nashik during his MBA, gaining insights into rural life and addressing challenges in education, linkages, food processing, and entrepreneurship. This project deepened his understanding of rural India, consumer behavior, and the nuances of product marketing.
In terms of leadership, Gagandeep was elected Secretary for Chaos, IIM Ahmedabad's cultural festival, managing a team of 212 members. This experience taught him humility, empathy, and the importance of considering individual interests while achieving common goals. He envisions applying these leadership skills in marketing and brand management, emphasizing teamwork, humility, and empathy.
Gagandeep plans to leverage his MBA skills in FMCG marketing, drawing from his experience at Nestle and internship at Reckitt. His exposure to new product launches, marketing campaigns, and strategic planning positions him as a good fit for FMCG firms like HUL, P&G, and Reckitt. His clarity of career goals and previous PPI reflect his alignment with the FMCG marketing sector.
His approach to teamwork is exemplified by his experience at ITC Limited, where he overcame language barriers by adopting an empathetic approach. This resilience and focus on building meaningful relationships led to a successful internship and a pre-placement offer. Gagandeep's problem-solving abilities, adaptability, and dedication to extracurricular activities contribute to his belief that he deserves recognition as one of the Most Employable MBA Graduates - Class Of 2024.
