Uber is one of the most aspired workplaces today. Be it their startup culture or just their products, b-schoolers hope to get an internship at Uber. In this highly detailed interview, XLRI student describes the complex and thorough process that he underwent to get selected for a summer internship with Uber. Here's how he did it!

Summary of the video:

Wondering how Uber hires top talent? What is the complete procedure that the company follows to hire Summer Interns from India's top business schools? How many rounds of selection exist, and how do you prepare yourself for such a seemingly daunting interview process with Uber? And finally, what are the things to keep in mind before and during the internship? In this video, Atul Sharma, a part of XLRI’s PGP Class of 2020, describes how he made it to Uber as a Summer Intern. From zeroing in on tech companies and describing in detail his interview experience Uber itself, to expressing his ecstasy upon being selected, Atul shares with us his unforgettable selection process. He talks about the process he followed to tailor his résumé, how he prepared for the interviews at Uber, and how he tackled unforeseen challenges in the interview process. Atul talks at length about building a solid resume and preparing for interviews, especially coming from an IT background. He shares how he took the pain to study and brush up on basic concepts as well as coding terminology and languages before his Uber interview. He shares how his work experience before MBA prepared him to crack interviews with ease and how he managed to be confident during interviews. Further, Atul shares his pre-internship prep and tells us how he connected with seniors to get clarity on his role. For those wondering what an MBA grad, especially an engineering student does at Uber, Atul explains the intricacies of his work and project as well. He takes us through the salient points of his internship at Uber and explains what traits you need in order to get into the company.

Here are a few key takeaways from Atul's interview:

1. Make sure your resume is up to date.
2. Your committee participation at b-school can be a point on your resume.
3. Tailor your resume to fit the companies and profiles you’re interested in.
4. If you have technical skills on your resume, be sure to know those thoroughly.
