Wondering how Citibank hires top talent? What is the complete procedure that the company follows to hire Summer Interns from India's top business schools? How many rounds of selection exist, and how do you prepare yourself in such a competitive environment for a position with Citibank? And finally, what are the things to keep in mind before and during the internship?

In this video, Jay Baviskar, a part of IIM Kozhikode’s PGP Class of 2020, describes how he made it to Citibank as a Summer Intern. After graduating as an urban planning engineer, and gaining work experience for a few months, Jay got into IIM K, hoping to advance his career. He talks about zeroing in on Citibank as his preferred company and how he prepared for summer internship interviews as a whole. He describes his interview experience with Citibank in detail, and shares his ecstasy upon being selected. Jay shares with us his unforgettable selection process.  Further, Jay shares his pre-internship prep and tells us how he kept up with news and trends before the internship started. He takes us through the salient points of his internship and tells us his final project. He gives some invaluable advice on how to make your internship matter. Here are a few key takeaways from Jay's interview that one must keep in mind:
  1. Study the basics of all the subjects just before summer interviews.
  2. Be aware of the news about companies performing well in each sector.
  3. Company research is very important.
  4. Make it a point to learn more about the company you’ll be working at in the lead up to your internship.
  5. Make your past experience count by working in core subjects to ensure how you can maximise your interview performance.
