The early 2000s saw a revolution in India with Direct to Home services making their entry into the world of Media and Entertainment and making TV viewing a more engaging and delightful experience for the viewers.Tata Play (formerly known as Tata Sky) was one of the first in the market to challenge the cable television industry. Gradually, Tata Play expanded its service to every nook and corner of the country and built a brand where the concept of Direct-To-Home became synonymous with Tata Play. Delighting customers with its superior picture quality, impressive customer care and interactive services, Tata Play became a household name in no time, and it continues to be the market leader in this segment even today. One of the challenges in the recent past however has been DD Free Dish – a free satellite TV service run by the Government of India, that provides Free to Air Channels with no subscription cost. It’s important to note that not all channels provided by the broadcasters are free. Broadcasters keep some popular channels in their bouquet as free to air. Free to air channels depend on advertisements to earn money. On the other hand, paid channels are on subscription basis. Viewer needs to pay to view Content. Because of free access to some content via these FTA channels, some customers, especially in the rural regions are refraining from taking up paid DTH subscriptions. that would cost them money. This shift in the mindset of the customers has become a cause for concern for the DTH operators. As future leaders, Tata Play would like you to come up with an effective business solution for this real-life problem –what should DTH operators like Tata Play do to lure customers to opt for paid DTH subscription instead of opting for DD Free Dish? Yes, you heard it right! You get to decide the strategy!

What is Tata Play Quest 2023?
A business case study challenge that will test your mental muscle to solve a real-life problem and possibly win a cash prize of Rs. 75,000.
