An organization thrives with the contribution of people coming in and putting their perspectives at the forefront. It thus becomes imperative to welcome people from different backgrounds and creating an environment where ideas can nurture and grow together. At Tata Steel, Anubhuti Banerjee found her own self coming to work every day. Born as a male, Anubhuti had always identified as a woman. It was initially difficult for her to come out and accept her identity primarily because of the societal structure that she lives in.
But, coming to Tata Steel had made her comfortable in her own skin which resulted in her taking a stand for other such employees within the organization. Learn more about how Anubhuti transitioned in the body of a female, through financial help received from Tata. This didn’t only help her relate to who she actually was, but gave the confidence to work and speak out for others looking for a voice. Like Anubhuti, Megha Ranjini, an engineer, also found her way to the world of Tata Steel. Coming from a background where women are not perceived to be working in a core sector like Tata Steel, Megha Ranjini proved that the real women of mettle are not afraid of taking challenges. Winner of the Tata Steel Women of Mettle competition Megha Ranjini became a part of the Tata Steel very soon, encouraging more women to come forward and take part in the ever-growing steel giant in the country. Tata Steel doesn’t only welcome people from different gender, caste or segments of the society but provides equal opportunities to people with special abilities. It works towards creating an inclusive work environment for its employees, who in turn could be in their productive best. Tell us in the comment section below what you think about the policies in place by Tata Steel and what is that one policy that you would like to have implemented in a workplace that you would like to join. *This is a promoted feature.
