This summer, MBA students across the country saw a very different picture than what they had previously. With the pandemic forcing everything to shut down, physical internships were out of the picture this year. Many companies froze their internships, many deferred, and some even canceled. With things going on pretty haywire for these interns, the sigh of relief came to this year’s Tata Steel interns when they saw their joining mails. Amidst all the difficulties, Tata Steel went on with taking in all the interns it had promised an internship. In this episode, we look at the internship experience of Nitya Aman Bhagat from TISS, Mumbai, and Mayurakhee Dutta from Xavier University, Bhubaneswar at Tata Steel.  
  *This is a promoted feature. HR plays an important role in a crisis situation, and these interns learned about it while being in the middle of the crisis at Tata Steel this year. From facing the first-hand challenges to complete their respective projects to understanding the demands that can arise from such a situation, the HR interns at Tata Steel went back with a lot of learning post their internship. We get deeper into understanding how Tata Steel approached the remote internships this year, how the interns felt about the challenges they faced and how they overcame the hurdles with mentor support within the organization.
