Lakhs of students across the country gear up for B-School entrance examinations every year hoping to hone their managerial skills and gain advancement in their careers. After the entrance exams and the succeeding interview rounds are finally over, it is time for the aspirants to join their respective MBA programmes. This is when the journey of growth starts. Symbiosis Centre for Management and Human Resource Development (SCMHRD) is an institute that has been constantly redefining the boundaries of the management discipline, allowing its students to learn and apply their skills and talent in this ever-changing VUCA world. Along with the academic rigor, students are expected to focus on extra-curriculars and competitions which give them a holistic approach towards the field of management. Students are motivated to deliver out-of-the-box solutions to the various corporate case study competition opportunities that are up for grabs every now and then. The college boasts winners in competitions like Godrej LOUD, Aditya Birla Group’s Headstart at a national level. Companies such as Mahindra, Flipkart,  ABG, Philips, Nestle, Titan launch their competitions at our college, every year, providing students a platform to bring out their creative instincts and deliver solutions. Students are also expected to develop their leadership and managerial skills from a practical standpoint. They are given ample opportunities to hone their technical skills and keep it at par with the dynamic business world. In order to keep themselves up-to-date with the business environment, students organize management conclaves and invite academicians from across the country to share their insights on a variety of topics. The college hosted the first international academic conference on infrastructure development, Infracon, which saw industrialists and academicians share their insights on the industry and the market. The college also saw a range of panelists come together and discuss the ever evolving field of artificial intelligence during Colloquium, 2019.     Life at SCMHRD will be incomplete if we do not mention Neev, India’s third largest B-School fest. The annual event, Augustus- the best student manager, is a competition sought by many. From business games to EDM nights, we have something for everyone. Just last year, the three-day extravaganza saw the likes of Nikhil D’Souza, DJ Shadow, Zeeshan Ramlan, Anmol Rodriguez, Sukhmani Sadana come down to the campus and enthrall the students. Amidst all this, the college endeavors to not let the cramped schedule of students become a barrier from taking up responsibilities and initiatives for the betterment of society. The Institute Social Responsibility cell, SAMATVA, has grown from catering to a few underprivileged students to now collaborating with NGOs across Pune and aiding their work.  The evening tutorial program, INSPIRIT, runs throughout the year and caters to more than 50 underprivileged children from areas nearby the campus. Every evening, students engage in a fulfilling and rewarding session with children from class one to ten from Marathi, semi-English and English medium schools to help them with their education needs. The students have a sea of opportunities waiting for them when they come to campus. We, here, at SCMHRD certainly know how to make the utmost use of these 2 years and bring out the best in ourselves and in others.
