Dr. Vimala Rani M is IIT Kharagpur’s Professor Of The Year 2021! With more than 7 years of academic and teaching experience, Prof. Rani is the Assistant Professor (Grade I - Operations) at the Vinod Gupta School of Management at IIT Kharagpur. Prof. Rani is a Ph.D in Operations Management from Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bangalore. She did her M.E (Software Engineering), PMCT for Women from Anna University, Chennai and completed her B.E (CSE), PSNA CET, from Madurai Kamaraj University, Madurai.
In the past, Prof. Rani has worked at the Amrita School of Business, Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham, Bangalore as Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management, Production and Operations Management for MBA-MS students. She has had experience teaching at IISc, Bangalore as a Research Scholar. She has worked with the Sudharsan Engineering College of Anna University, Tamil Nadu as Lecturer covering Artificial Intelligence, Network Protocols, Management and Security, Cryptography & Network Security, Multimedia Systems, Software Engineering; and Software Testing. Her extensive knowledge, experience, and pedagogy are complimented by her investment in her students. She is known for being a patient listener who systematically answers the minutest of doubts her students might face. Her pedagogy keeps her students engaged and interested in the subjects she teaches.
