NITIE Mumbai has recorded a significant rise in the salaries offered to its graduating batch of 2022, as revealed in the recently released 2022 NITIE placements report. This year, the average salary shot-up by 30 percent, while the median also increased by 22 percent. The highest salary also increased by 11 percent and stood at a whopping INR 49 lakhs. Top brands on campus included the likes of McKinsey and Company, Amazon, Flipkart, Nykaa, HUL, ITC, P&G, Reliance Industries, Accenture and many others. Impressive 30 Percent Increase In Average Salary, Median Up By 22 Percent | NITIE Placements 2022
After an underwhelming placements season last year, NITIE Mumbai recorded an incredible 30 percent uptick in the average salary for the graduating batch, and a 22 percent increase in the median salary. The increase was substantial even compared to 2020.
Notably, the average of the top-20% salaries stood at INR 39 lakhs, 1.25x the figure in 2021. However, the highest salary in the past five years continues to be INR 58.24 lakhs, offered to the batch of 2020. Since then, the top salary on offer has come down to a still-colossal INR 49 lakhs.

Consulting, Manufacturing Most Sought-After Sectors For Graduating Batch | NITIE Placements 2022
This year at NITIE, a total of 107 recruiters (including 23 first-time recruiters) participated in the final placement process to hire 468 students. This was down from 125 participating companies last year for a similar batch strength.
In 2022, Consulting emerged as the most desirable sector for NITIE's graduating batch to work in, with 35 percent of the batch opting for roles with Consulting companies. This followed last year's trend, when 23 percent of the batch took up roles in the Consulting sector. In 2022, there was an incredible 65 percent increase in the number of Consulting offers extended.
Manufacturing stood out as the next most desirable sector, followed by Ecommerce and FMCG.
Significantly, 1 in 3 NITIE students received a pre-placement offer (PPO).
