SIBM Pune's final placement report for 2023 is now out. In 2023, the institute witnessed the average and median salaries go up by 16% and 15%, respectively. 105+ recruiters participated in the process, including leading companies like Microsoft, JP Morgan, Morgan Stanley, Barclays, Accenture Strategy, ITC, Flipkart, Jio, PwC, P&G, Asian Paints, amongst many others. Students bagged a whopping 111 pre-placement offers, up by 14% compared to last year. Here's a quick breakdown of the key salary and recruitment figures from SIBM Pune's 2023 placements report.
Average salary up by 16%, median up by 15% at SIBM Pune
In 2023, SIBM Pune saw the highest salary touch INR 35.05, which was actually a dip from last year. However, despite this dip, the average salary shot up by 16%, standing at INR 26.77 lakhs. The median salary increased by 15%, going up to INR 24.00 lakhs. The average of the top-50% of salaries stood at INR 29.99 lakhs, while that of the top-10% stood at INR 33.27 lakhs.

BFSI, FMCG/FMCD most sought-after sectors in 2023
Offers from BFSI, FMCG/FMCD companies made up 44% of the total offers extended at SIBM Pune in 2023. This is a significant uptick
from last year, when 30% of the offers came from companies in these sectors. 1 out of every 5 offers came from the Consulting sector, and 15% of all offers came from the IT and Ecommerce sectors.
Specialization-wise PPO conversions and domain-wise average salaries
In 2023, SIBM Pune students received a total of 111 pre-placement offers (PPOs), which was an increase of 14% from last year but an even bigger increase of 68% compared to 2020. Impressively, students specializing in HR converted 55% of the PPOs received, and those specializing in Operations converted 50%.
Domain-wise, the average salary offered was highest for HR profiles (INR 27.06 lakhs), followed by Marketing (INR 27.03 lakhs), Operations (INR 26.75 lakhs), and Finance (INR 25.20 lakhs).
