In this episode, have a brief look at SPJIMR’s Abhyudaya and DoCC initiative. Here, the staff explains their motto to the students and what happens beyond classroom learning.
We have Prof. Deepa Krishnan, who explains the origin of Abhyudaya and her purpose in helping underprivileged children. She describes how their MBA students engage and mentor underprivileged students for a year where both the children and the students collaborate for the greater good.
We also have Prof. Chandrika Parmar on how a B-school goes beyond its boundary and impacts society through the Development Of Corporate Citizenship (DoCC).
She explains how this initiative encourages students to contribute and go beyond being managers to serve less advantageous parts of society.
How can an MBA student contribute and be a part of Abhyudaya or DoCC?
Prof Sajeev Abraham George explains SPJIMR’s objective to raise value-based leaders who can engage in their management skills and society. We also have students describing their experience on the field with underprivileged students and how they were inspired by the people they came across.
The students get in deep with individual children to understand their difficulties, communicate with them in person, and create solutions. They also explain why their perspective on becoming an MBA changed after going through this program and how their vision became wider than they would have imagined.
Watch the entire video to know why Professors and students’ at SPJIMR breaks the chain of regular MBA schools’ tag and go beyond to address the fundamental issues in society.
