In this article, Chakshita,a student of XLRI Jamshedpur who interned at Mondelez in the Sales and Marketing domain, talks about her summer internship experience. Find out about how she prepared for the summer placements, her onboarding process, her experiences & what her learnings are during this internship.
Hi, Tell us about how you got selected for this internship? Take us through the moment you realized you had got the internship.
It was 5am in the morning. I had just got up and the interview was already scheduled. I rushed to get ready and as I sat in front of the screen, slightly nervous, my interview began. Seeing my face my interviewer, who's now my project guide, said -'' Too early a morning for you?". But the interview only got better from there.
After results-
When I got to know where my summers were going to be, I rushed to the nearest store bought a Cadbury Celebrations box and distributed in my family, as a way to convey to my parents that the reason we're having these chocolates is the fact that I'll be working with the company that made them- Mondelez
On joining the company as an intern, how has your onboarding experience been like?
Onboarding was very smooth. The induction programme was very well planned. It not just gave me key insights on what's currently happening in the company, but also gave all interns a deeper understanding of where the company is headed. It was a great experience interacting with the leaders at Mondelez during the induction. It gave me the opportunity to present my views to the top management and hear from them on the same.
A unique element about Mondelez is that it also took care of ensuring peer learning among interns despite the virtual internship through SnackUp. The initiative is an inter-interns competition that's beyond our individual projects. It allows us to learn from counterparts from different colleges while working with them on a innovative idea for mondelez.
Overall, my experience has been wonderful. I have been given a lot of ownership of my project, that allows me to connect with multiple brands of Mondelez and management across the marketing landscape. The learning potential is huge.
