In this article, Avantika Tijare ,a student of IIM Calcutta who interned at TAS in the Sales and Marketing domain talks about her summer internship experience. Find out about how she prepared for the summer placements, her onboarding process, her experiences & what she learnings are during this internship.   Are You The Best Summer Intern Of The Class Of 2022? Share Your Own Internship Experience. Participate In Summer Saga Season 8 & Win Upto Rs. 15,000!

Hi, Tell us about how you got selected for this internship? Take us through the moment you realized you had got the internship.

The selection round consisted of a long process like online games, a detailed application form, a Chairman GD and the final stressful PI. TAS is a company that looks for a personality and ethics in the candidates and I knew that I was the best fit for the company and the company was the best culture fit for me. Talking about the result, I did not focus on the result during the interview. I was only trying to be honest and correct. It is only after the placement coordintor anounced my result that I realized that I had got the internship.

On joining the company as an intern, how has your onboarding experience been like?

The onboarding has been pretty fun. We, as interns come with loads of emotions and energy. Right from excitement and energy to nervousness, I was very optimistic about the internship. I have my mentors who are very senior to me. I was very nervous. But as they say, at TAS, people are very friendly, for not even a moment did I realize that I was a new intern. the onboarding process was very smooth

How has your interaction with the team members and colleagues been like? How will you make sure to leave the best impression on your supervisors by the end of the internship?

The interaction has been very insightful. Every interaction with my team members and mentors teaches me something new. I learn new methods of researching, technical details and other skills from them. Firstly, I need to truly myself to bring out the best in me and utilize it towards the benefit of my internship project. And to impress my supervisors, I have been going a step ahead and putting in more efforts than required and asked for. I try to utilize my college resources and learn something from my friends that is useful for my project. It helps me bring a new perspective onto the table.

Tell us in brief, about the project you are currently working on and how is this project going to help the company?

I am working on a confidential project where I am evolving a communications technology and working with the product marketing team. Daily, I am trying to modify the customer value of the product and the services to re-launch it. My work will help the company to understand the customer perspective better and help the internal teams to gauge the customer requirements appropriately. It will also help the company get a competitive advantage.
