Yellanti Naveen Krishna from the Shailesh J. Mehta School of Management, IIT Bombay, Mumbai is one of India's Most Promising Incoming MBA Students 2022!  The following is Yellanti Naveen Krishna's set of responses to a questionnaire floated amongst incoming MBA graduates to determine the top 50 Most Promising Incoming MBA students of 2022. Amongst the massive number of entries and responses being evaluated,  Naveen Krishna's story and profile stood out. Here's his story in his words. I am from a beautiful little town, Kadapa in Andhra Pradesh. I did my schooling in Kadapa and joined SASTRA University with huge expectations for the future and learnt almost all the trending technologies like Ai, ML, IoT, Cloud Computing and Virtual Reality. During my learning, I understood application of Technology is more important than just learning technology. We have to solve real-world industry problems for the greater good and to do it, I decided to learn how the industry works and I am here pursuing my MBA.

Tell us more about your extracurricular achievements

Associated with YOUTH FOR HEALTHY ECOSYSTEM, a Seven day Special Camping Program in TamilNadu 5. Volunteered in the donation of blood, in several blood donation camps organised at SASTRA Deemed University 6. Raised donations of 60000 in 12th from professors and batchmates and donated them to Revenue Seva Samastha Tell us about a time when you messed up, and what you learnt from the experience? It is my first company in my final placements during my graduation. I cleared all the rounds and appeared for the final round, the HR round. I was so excited that I thought I have already cracked the interview and I gave the interview very openly. When asked about future plans, I openly said I am interested in pursuing my MBA and will pursue It in future. Later realised it is a blunder and learned to be more diplomatic, even though my intention is not to leave the company, HR thought that I may leave the company if given a chance. which made me realise that answer questions by being in the shoes of the opposite person.

Tell us something about yourself that others may be surprised to know about you.

More often I speak with myself, I feel like Imran Khan from Karthik calling karthik. I analyse myself, i support myself and sometimes I feel bad for the pathetic that I took.

What have been your two biggest successes in life? What did you learn from them?

Being able to Join SJMSOM and getting awarded by APSRTC for meritorious performance in my intermediate. These are my biggest achievements not because of the struggle that I kept in achieving them but because these were the promises that I made to my Mom and Dad. And when I am able to achieve them finally, I have seen the tears of pride in their eyes, those tears were the actual biggest successes in my entire life and I will not forget these 2 moments in my entire life.

Professionally, what is your ideal image of yourself five years from now? Where do you see yourself?

I see myself with professional growth, horizontally. I would have worked in all the industry domains available and I would have gained enough understanding of the operations, Supply chain, FInance, Marketing, sales and Data Analysis of a company.

What is the one skill or characteristic you possess that you are most proud of, and why?

My Commitment, I am soo committed that I don't care whatever the challenge face in my journey, I will one day reach my destination and when I look back, I am able to see my hard work along with a lot of memories. This has happened till now and will happen in future.

In your opinion, what skills or qualities does a successful manager possess?

A Manager is made by designation and a leader is made by people. A leader should have the courage to accept the failure of the team as its own failure, Should be able to take responsibility for every aspect of work, even when it is not related to his domain.

Tell us about an ethical dilemma that you may have faced, and how you resolved it.

I joined FORD motors just after my graduation and within 3 months of my joining, FORD released a press release saying that FORD is no longer manufacturing its cars in India, I am confused and got into an ethical dilemma, should I stay with the company and should I leave the company looking for another opportunity. Since it is my first company, I have a personal affection towards the company and leaving a company within 4 months of time is also not soo professional, But what will be my future, if they suddenly windup R&D operations also. So I took a serious step to leave the company with keeping my future in mind.

If you were the CEO of any company of your choosing, which company would you choose and what would your first action be as CEO?

I would like to ensure work-life balance among employees.
