The portfolio of the club is well-designed to impart knowledge and help gain access to applying the knowledge to real-time scenarios. Conceptualisation of the operations of the club is based on the high degree of correlation between knowledge acquisition and practising it.
Predixion engages analytics enthusiasts through facilitating interactions with CXO level industry experts from different domains, on a regular basis giving room for thought to apply the classroom concepts with least standard deviation. The guest session series “ Talk Analytics” has been well-orchestrated in which each interaction helped students develop a perspective on different concepts like Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, Predictive Analytics, Tableau, Prescriptive techniques, higher regression models and their applications in Marketing, Finance and Operations.
Analytics is the set of processes and their implementation that carries a belief in self-learning. Predixion helps students enforce it through various competitions held in-house and national scale. Last year “Quant Quest” was conducted which facilitated prospective managers to apply one of the core modules of Analytics,” decision-making theory” via hypothesis testing and probabilistic techniques. Students had gained the tinge of decision making under pressure and understood the importance of quantitative backing up through this fun-filled yet thoughtful treasure hunt. “Brain-a-lytics” the national level event held by Predixion attracted crowd from all the top B-schools and helped them to showcase their skill on advanced regression techniques on predictive models and gain an enriching experience.
The plethora amounts of data sets available have junk data and one might make false interpretations from it. Data cleansing is one big way to reduce the rate of false positives in end results. Interactive and learning sessions held with the help of most-renowned faculty in the domain were of extreme use to the students. In this ever-growing competitive world, to effectively communicate with machines for analytics purposes, one must have knowledge of their languages. Initiatives have been taken by the club to facilitate students to learn different languages such as R and Python.
On a whole, Predixion works on the mantra of “the more we learn and practice, the more intelligent we become”. It strives to inculcate all the practices which reduce the odds in learning and help the analytics population regress to a learning curve with most dependable practices.
On a whole, it is the combined effort of all the students and stakeholders which lead to a positive sum game for both the club and enthusiasts to learn and move further. Though the cause-effect relationship between students and club is tough to quantify too with analytics!
