Imagine getting through to one of the top consulting companies and then realizing, you are not quite a fit! For Pragya Batra, it was ‘tiring to not know enough of one thing’. And that prompted her to shift base. After working for almost 5 years at Bain & Company, she shifted to InMobi. But, this is when the big step of her life happened. She co-founded a small venture that deals with handcrafted silver jewellery, which went to become a multi-million dollar e-commerce brand. In today’s Ask Me Anything session, we present to you the Co-Founder of Quirksmith Lifestyle, Pragya Batra.
Quirksmith is a little more than just creating pretty jewellery. Several of its designs incorporate words from poetry in various Indian languages. Take for example, ‘Aham Brahamsmi’, which translates into ‘I am the Universe’. So how did an IIT Delhi graduate, who went on to do her MBA at INSEAD, worked as a consultant at Bain, decided to start an e-commerce platform like Quirksmith? That too at a time when the market was overly crowded in India!
From the humble beginnings, Pragya now has created a multi-million dollar brand that has become a voice and a mode of expression for countless happy customers.
