XAT 2023 Analysis: Verbal and Logical Ability Section

According to IMS, an attempt of about 13-14 questions in this section in about 55-60 minutes, with about 75-80% accuracy would be considered a good attempt. As per Career Launcher, 16-18 questions were doable.

XAT 2023 Analysis: Decision Making 

As per the experts at IMS, In about 50-55 minutes, an attempt of about 11-12 questions with about 75-80% accuracy would be considered to be good.  According to the analysis by Career Launcher, it is slightly tougher than last year. A good attempt in this section is 15 to 17 questions.

XAT 2023 Analysis: Quantitative Ability and Data Interpretation

According to IMS, an attempt of about 17-18 questions (with about 80 percent accuracy) in about 55-60 minutes would be considered a good attempt. As per Career Launcher, the Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation was moderately more difficult in comparison to last year. A good attempt in this section would be 16 to 18 questions.

XAT 2023 Analysis: General Knowledge

According to IMS, to maximize the score in this section, one should have attempted 12 questions seriously. Additionally, as there was no negative marking in this section, all the remaining questions should also have been attempted. A score of 6 – 7 would be a good score in this section. As per experts at Career Launcher, a good score in this section would be 10+.

XAT 2023 Analysis: Essay Writing

Three topics were provided. The test-taker had to select one topic and write an essay of around  250 words.

The topics for the essay writing task were:

1. Risk is the essential need of the soul, the absence of which produces a kind of boredom which paralyses in a different way from fear, but almost as much.
2. Rapid decarbonization to fulfil India’s net zero commitments will have business consequences.
3. Someone with half your IQ is making 10x as you, because they are not smart enough to doubt themselves.
