My life has been a journey, and in this journey, I have often been acquainted with Aditya Birla Group products. Nowadays I am blessed to have an ABG product by my side starting from morning till I retire for the day. But the same was not possible in childhood being a native of Jorhat, a semi-urban place in the North-Eastern part of India. I spent half of my childhood studying in a boarding school so that with good education and sufficient exposure I can do well and move to a bigger city for my higher education. Belonging to a smaller city I always had small dreams and many of them might sound funny to a mate from a metro city. One big dream of mine from childhood was to gift something special to my parents from my first salary. That dream was nearing when I got placed and joined Fluor Corporation after graduating from NIT Silchar. With my first salary at hand, I flew back home to meet my parents. But in the rush to see my loved ones, I forgot about my dream. So, straight after landing in the airport I went to the nearby Pantaloons Outlet and grabbed an Allen Solly suit for my father and a watch for my mother. And from then till today, Pantaloons have been my go-to place for all my apparel and accessories needs. Whether it’s an interview or the first day at college, the procrastinated self in me always takes me to Allen Solly or Louis Philippe or Van Heusen and within few minutes I get tucked up in a wonderfully fitted suit to be ready for the auspicious occasion.
Life is a tale of struggles:
My life has been a story of struggles so far. The struggles have taken me to places, exposed me to many adventures and most importantly have brought along a whole lot of experiences. I can proudly and firmly say that the person I am today is only because of those struggles and my determination to fight and overcome each of them every time. The first challenge is faced in life was to move to a boarding school at the tender age of 10. It was tough for me to be away from the lap of my parents at such an age, but my dream to be an Armed Force Officer kept me going. That dream of mine was shining brightly on the horizon when I cleared my NDA written exam. But suddenly the heaven broke down when I was not recommended from the Air Force SSB board. That was a devastating moment for me as I put on 7 precious tender age of my life on the line to reach there and see my dream getting fulfilled. With no other plan on the roster, I had to stop and ask myself “ What’s next? “. Fascinated by the love of machines the answer had to be Engineering. Putting all my energies I went full throttle for the entrance exams and I performed well in AIEEE and was able to secure a seat in NIT Silchar. This perseverant experience of mine always keeps me motivated in times of turmoil and makes me feel that I can achieve anything. And for this very reason, I was able to get into IIFT after overcoming a really difficult selection process.
