Today Aditya Birla has built an ecosystem of brands that are now among the people's favorites. ABG is growing at a much faster rate making huge impacts on every person they come across. I have a special bond with ABG which I’ve always taken pride in sharing it.
Our home and I are twins! Yes, we took the same number of months to be born and the same year. My mom got conceived when my dad started his dream house. And the house turned into a home when we entered. Our home was built with care, love, tears, affection, sweat and UltraTech cement. I still remember the words my dad said when I asked him " Why you chose UltraTech cement despite running a very tight financial crunch rather than choosing a cheaper unbranded one? " He simply said, "I was not building a house for myself, but a home which could stand with my future generations". That moment I realized that the brand has the trust of my dad and his beliefs are deeply rooted.
ABG has touched many souls and continues to do so. According to me, Life is always meant to be kept as simple as you can. Making a positive impact and gaining the trust of the people around you is what makes you immortal. ABG has already in its path to be an immortal.
‘How I overcame challenges to achieve my ambitions in life so far?’
Everyone learns their life lessons during their toughest hours. I am no unique.
During the 2nd year of engineering, my dad lost his job. Our family income fell. I badly wanted to contribute financially to my family.
I realized that there was a common problem in our neighborhoods. In our locality, the groundwater is available only at 200+ ft, so there was a need for a 300 ft bore-well which forced us to use compressor motors to pump water. The problem with the compressor motor is that it continues to pump the water even after the supply is switched off. So there was always a wastage of water almost every house in our locality. I saw this as an opportunity and built a circuit for preventing the water overflow. I installed at my home and started convincing people about the product.
Within 15 days I had 30+ orders. I faced several challenges throughout the project such as manpower, target delays, increase in material costs, etc., I got two friends from my college and we worked on weekends to meet our targets. Totally we made 43 products. But the above challenges made me self-learn many things about me and the world. I planned, designed, procured, built, tested, marketed and delivered a product. Also, when something went wrong during the manufacturing or installation, both my friends were looking for my words. This made me realize the value and the amount of responsibility that I should take for the words I speak.
This one phase of my life taught me things in a very harsh manner which would have taken me forever to learn.
