From the moment we wake up every day, till the time we go to bed at night, we interact with so many people and so many things. We don’t even realize how little things impact us on a daily basis and how helpless we would be without these little things.

My day starts with driving to college, attending lectures, studying after coming home and then going to bed after spending some ‘me’ time. Now, when I look at it as a series of countless small interactions, I can understand the presence of Aditya Birla Group in my life. While driving to college, I sometimes use the Bandra-Worli sea link to evade traffic. The share of Ultratech Cement (a subsidiary of Aditya Birla Group) in the making of the sea link was massive. Also, the tires of my car are kept safe by Birla Carbon nanoparticles.

I use my smartphone a lot for my college work and the sturdy cover glass of my phone is made using Hindalco aluminium (another subsidiary of Aditya Birla Group). I use Vodafone (partner of Aditya Birla Group) as my service provider as it gives me uninterrupted network as well as faster internet speed. In addition to this, when we talk about jeans, it all comes down to comfort and after trying out different brands, I found that nothing matches the comfort of Louis Philippe (under Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited)

All these small things in my life add up to something big and when you look at it clearly, that something big is a crucial part of everyday life. Aditya Birla Group plays a big role in my everyday functioning and I would like to thank them for making my life easier in such small and yet big ways.

A Low in Life

I have loved playing football ever since I was a kid. It gave me a lot of joy. I made a secret pact with myself that I will always find time in my busy schedule to play football till I grow old to not be able to play it. I was keeping to my pact till one day I injured my left knee while playing. The ligament in my knee tore and I had to have a surgery. The doctor told me that my knee will never be as good as before and I might not be able to play again. I pleaded for a way out and he told me that I would have to work a lot on my knee and strengthen it in order to be able to play again. I went through grueling physiotherapy sessions and a lot of weight training at the gym. I had to regularly follow this regime for a year to finally make my knee strong enough to be able to play. When I went to play the first time after a year, I was scared I might end up tearing the ligament again but that fear was something I had to overcome. I started out slowly and took my time and after playing for four to five times I was able to play football like before. I had found my happiness again and I really had to work a lot for it.

Now, when I am going through a really hectic phase in my life, I find my peace in football. It helps me preserve my mental balance which is very crucial for me these days. I know it might not sound like a career oriented challenge but for me it was a life oriented challenge. Being able to overcome that setback and fear that followed has really helped me a lot in every aspect of my life. The learning I got from this is priceless and it is always going to help me in my future.
