Why Aditya Birla Group is big in your life?

Being a Rajasthani Baniya is never so easy. Likewise a Baniya wedding is not just any simple affair but an entire carnival in itself. It is colourful, loud and engulfed with the thoughtful traditions and customs. And the important part of those customs is Grasim. Don't be surprised if you see my grandmother talking about Grasim in marriages. According to her the clothes that are exchanged between groom and bride families should be of good quality. And for her the sign of good quality is Grasim.

She will only approve clothes and if she find them to be from Grasim Textiles. Such is the brand that Grasim has carried over the last 70 years. As a kid i grew up watching all these reverence for Grasim not only from past generations but current generations too. The Swadeshi feel it gives, the proud and confidence this brand brings it in you is just outstanding. Even when i told my grandparents that Louis Philppe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England are all by Aditya Birla Group the glint in their eyes said it all. Wanna know what they said - Apna Birla fir koi choti cheez thodi na h. So everything related to my family is big in my life and being of part of ABG adds to it.

Challenge that i overcame in my life?

My biggest challenges in my most recent position are surrounding the demographics of the company I worked in. Often, due to demographic the casual workers that used to come in shifts were not properly clothed for the cold weather or used to do double shifts deliberately to earn extra, or even used to come to work when they were sick or injured. Though my company was strict regarding the Occupational Health and Safety Measures and the Social Accountability, contractors still used to by pass the rules and regulations. One couldn't just complaint about the contractor to management because that would have resulted in sacking of the contractor and many casual workers loosing their earning. In order to tackle the issue in a different way, a series of training sessions (videos mostly) were organised for the contractors and supervisors that showcased how being empathetic towards your employees improved productiveness and efficiency. Also some competition and awards were also initiated for the best supervisor and contractor of the year. Also during daily plant rounds it was specially focused to interact with the casual labor and have their feedback. Those initiatives have proven to help significantly. Overtime reduced, there were some visible changes in the working, Sick and Injured personnel reported less. I am thrilled to have made an impact on this common problem
