All of us have faced challenges in our life, big or small, it is how we deal with them that is a true test of our character. Although for the most part, I have lived a sheltered life, there have been a few obstacles in my way I have had to overcome. When I was 10 years old, I lost a close member of my family, to add to this I was also diagnosed with a hormonal disease that led me unable to function normally for several months. During this time, I missed a lot of school work
It was quite a task for me to catch up to speed with all that I had missed in the time, but with patience, hard work and help from those around me, I was able to overcome this hurdle and conquer my disease.
Another hurdle I was faced with much more recently was getting wait listed at my NMIMS. NMIMS being my dream college, it left me quite demotivated about the denial. Despite this I continued with a positive attitude, preparing for my remaining entrance exams, while also preparing a contingency plan for the upcoming year. Soon after my last entrance exam for the season, I got notified that I had been accepted into NMIMS.
Despite the eventual acceptance, I realized that no matter what the challenge I must take it in my stride and move forward. This according to me is the best way to conquer any challenge in our way and eventually achieve our ambitions.
Why Aditya Birla is big in my life.
Aditya Birla Group is one of the biggest conglomerates in India today. It touches several lives, from a middle-class man on his phone to a millionaire constructing his dream home. Who hasn’t spoken about the widely publicized move by ABG to merge Idea with Vodafone, to break a major market monopoly? Idea, being, one of the forerunners in the 3G technology market, and with its very creative campaign of “what an idea sirji” has left an everlasting impression on this generation. Aditya Birla group has also fulfilled the aspirations of several home buyers by providing them with reasonable and timely home loans.
Personally, some of my favourite clothing brands like Pantaloons, Forever 21, come from the house of Aditya Birla group, and as I’ve evolved into the professional sphere, Van Heusen and Ralph Lauren have been my go-to choices. Not only business but Aditya Birla group has also been at the forefront of large philanthropic endeavours in the country. From building schools and ensuring a world class education to its employees’ children to undertaking mass immunization programmes in rural areas of the Indian villages and providing scholarships to deserving students, ABG has truly given back to the society.
By working with several government schemes all over India and to build infrastructure and healthcare in several villages, Aditya Birla has proved time and again its commitment to help build a better India and a better future for its people. Such business sense along a spirit of philanthropy is why I believe the Aditya Birla group is a large part of several people’s lives in this country.
