ABG, having made its presence felt all throughout my life, it has been a part of my life’s challenges too. Life has thrown various curve balls, testing my physical and mental limits. Having played badminton at the national level for a decade, it was not short of obstacles which only made me stronger for the next challenge. One such test was during a major ranking national tournament where I suffered a severe burn on my leg 2 days prior to my match. Apprehensive whether to play the match, I went to the practice court to check how long I would be able to sustain with the injury. Must have been the luckiest day of my life so far, I get to meet and play with the legend of badminton, Mr Prakash Padukone who was shooting a video right on the next court. Just the ecstasy of getting a chance to interact with him took away all my pain. The motivation and strength came from the fact that I got to meet him just because I was injured and went to the court to practice. Had I not been injured; I would have been at some place elsewhere. This gave me energy to give my best on court forgetting about what had happened to me for the duration of the match. The mental grit that I showcased that day makes me proud of myself. And when I think of it, ABFRL was again part of that journey as I rely on Liva and Pantaloons for a lot of my sporting outfits. And when I now have to keep aside badminton during my time at IIFT, I am sure ABG’s brands are going to keep me company in the new challenges also that I expect to come my way.
