"Opportunities don't happen. You create them." - Chris Grosser

From my schooling from Summer Fields School owned by K. R. Mangalam Group to me wearing formal shirts and pants of Van Heusen, Louis Phillipe and Peter England day in day out, Aditya Birla Group has been an integral part of my life. Their mission of delivering superior value to their customers, shareholders, employees and society at large, speaks much about their prevalence in the Indian market for many years now. Being a Vodafone user, I can’t imagine a single day without data connection in my smartphone. Aditya Birla Group tries to reach every household possible with their products, rather most of the homes are built using their Ultratech cement (including mine). During childhood, ABG always helped to keep my lunch warm with their Freshwrapp aluminium foil. ABG products have been evergreen in my personal life and they have created a huge impact during some moments of my life. A school helps a child grow and achieve great heights in their life which SFS did brilliantly. It’s difficult for a conglomerate to survive in a variety of businesses but ABG has proved its mettle by providing good quality goods and services across the whole world. I sincerely want to thank ABG for making our lives simpler and better.

Harsh, in Hindi, means happiness. I try to ensure that my peers also feel the happiness that I undergo even during tough times. Like everyone else, I have also faced a lot of challenges during my lifetime some of which, I was able to tackle happily.

During the course of my graduation, I had developed a great deal of interest in automobiles. Along with my college mates, I had designed a go-kart for National Kart Racing Championship. I realized the importance of every group member’s perspective on how to plan and analyse the best possible way of assembling our go-kart. While fabricating go-kart for the NKRC competition, our team mounted the engine incorrectly on the chassis leading to improper balance of the kart. I mounted the engine a few centimetres above drive shaft and tilting it by a few degrees to align the engine vertically thereby improving the balance of the kart which also enhanced fuel efficiency. So, the ability to analyse the problem at hand and come up with a solution for the same are some of the skills that I have been developing upon from the past couple of years.

While working on our major and minor projects, our team faced a lot of challenges in material procurement, lack of software knowledge and lack of proper guidance. So, we decided to overcome these challenges by working as a team and performing to the best of our abilities so that we are able to complete our objective. Where our college professors weren’t able to guide us, Google helped us tackle that situation. The lessons learned from these projects was whatsoever complex problem we face in our lives, we should try to find an alternative rather than craving for a miracle to happen. I also learned the importance of prior knowledge and analysis of the problem statement beforehand so that the difficulties after taking up the task are minimized.

A person has to have a clearly defined career goal in their life and doing an MBA was my objective so that I can grow and attain managerial skills for the fulfilment of my career goal eventually.
