“Ek idea jo badal de aapki duniya”

What an idea sir ji ? The lines which was spoken by each person in the country after the marketing campaign for IDEA started getting its pace. Aditya Birla Group has successfully  created its dominance in country. Cement, telecom, textile, fashion, financial services and what not. And how does it influence my life ? Well here is an incident. So It is always an advantage of being a son of a brand obsessed father. It was the annual function of the school and I(the head boy of the school) was supposed to go in formals. At the age of 17, who owns formals, right ? So I needed new pairs and my father took me to Louis Phillipe showroom. Why Louis Phillipe ? The logo. It allures me since my childhood. Everytime I saw it, I had craving for it. So we bought 3 pairs, obviously extra for future use. And the next day I went to school all dressed up, made impressions to the mates and In one day I was famous. So this is how LP made a place in my heart from that day. After so many years I came to know that Idea and LP are of the same group and that is ABG. And hence I started looking for other products of ABG. Then I came to know that the ‘Bandra-Worli’ sealink, which never fails to amaze me is also built by ABG. A company with mediocre right after independence is now a market leader not only in India but also worldwide. I am not only a loyal customer for its fashion brands at a personal level but also aspire to be a part this seven decade long legacy or at least learn from their mottos and imbibe some of their teachings into myself so as to be as successful as them. The company has put themselves in the league of the Fortune 500. Also they have generated a major part of their revenues from international market. ABG is not just a company but a nation’s pride too.

And I can easily relate this company to my life. So every company has its own goal. So did I. In the year 2016 I decided MBA as a career. And hence you have to go through the admission process that is CAT, GD-PI and all. So I have done my schooling in the Gujarati medium school. Till UG I never got the environment where one speaks English around me. So cracking this Verbal Ability section in CAT and other competitive exams was a more than difficult task for me. But the best part about a challenge is that it challenges you. So I appeared for CAT ’17. But there, I was not able to score well in VA. I failed. But I have learnt that you can not stop trying, right ? So I decided to take up the challenge again and that is CAT ’18. The whole year I worked hard. Particularly in VA section. And guess what ? I got the satisfied results which helped me to get into  one of the top B-schools of India. Well, this is the first successful step which I overcame at the beginning of my MBA journey. What I have learnt in my past couple of years is that you need to have patience because when you have worked hard, something good is coming up for sure. So just keep doing your job, leave all the worries behind. And now at GIM, I am all set for the upcoming challenges which, I believe, will be the most difficult and also exciting. But I’ll make sure that I keep motivating myself throughout next 2 years.
