How Have I Made An Impact
If your first instinct is to run away from failures, then perhaps you’re doing it the wrong way! This mantra from Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla is something which I live by and something which everyone should follow blindly. Failure is inevitable; if one fails it is an assurance that you are taking enough risks and doing the right things. Working through these failures and challenges is what makes a person successful. Success is a game of patience and perseverance.
I have faced many challenges and have learnt to look at these challenges as a means to prove my worth and move forward in life. Before joining MDI, Gurgaon I was working as a Senior Software Developer. As part of my project, I was the only one in my project who was part of the initial development team. Due to this there was major dependency on me and a lot of work pressure to train new people, get the current and new projects moving at a steady pace. While preparing for my CAT exams, balancing my work along with my studies was proving to be a very cumbersome task. During this time, there were some personal problems which I had to deal with. There were continuous days were I could hardly get any sleep. This was taking a toll on me. To top this there were people who would often question my decision to get into a B-School for a full time course as I had around 4 years of work experience and was doing decently well in my career. The thought of giving up on my exams had crossed my mind several times. However, the idea of getting into a top B-School and making my efforts count is what kept me going and striving for success. Time management and prioritisation of work is something which I learned very effectively during this time and I can now say that I have dealt with my challenges and achieved what I wanted to do.
On to bigger challenges and better returns!
