Being a girl who was confused to decide between ice creams to a grown confident woman now with a clear career goal, I have come a long way. However, the journey was never an easy ride. The discouragements and wooing were not a few. Being a girl from a not so rich background and the societal pressure to not encourage a girl to pursue higher education was never a hurdle for to me to chase my dream. The juggle between JEE preparations and the 12th board exam preparations were testing times. The school starts at 8.00 am and ends at 6.00pm. The JEE coaching center was located kilometers away from my home. Rushing back home at 6:30pm after school gets over, getting refreshed or grabbing a snack once in a while, and returning back at 11 PM to have dinner and sit again to complete any leftover homework left me exhausted. The sleepless nights during the initial few days made me experience all time lows which became a pleasure rather than a burden later on. With high demanding academics the burning desire to succeed kept my motivation alive whenever I wanted to quit. Certain sacrifices of reduced TV shows, extravagant parties, limited chats with friends and to spend that time with my study table and books seem to be worth every penny when I rewind those days. The perseverance to achieve my goals and the expectations of my parents to make them proud were the things which kept me awake during these preparations in addition to the midnight coffee which my mom offered. NIT-Trichy Electrical and electronics degree is a tag which I will cherish for a lifetime. Setting higher dreams and working towards it tirelessly is what I believe has brought me to a place where I am right now.
